I'm planning to start on Formula feeding my LO..She's abt 4 months now.

Was wondering whether the Microwave steriliser was a safe option...Those who have used it, is the Avent Microwave Steriliser a good buy? Was it easy to use?

Do write in and let me know!

We have one and used it all through my sons babyhood to sterilise (he was formula fed from 6wks) and we are now using it again for the new round of bottles with number 2. We did buy new BPA free bottles this time around.

Its so easy to use and really handy to be able to throw in the car to take away with you. Its rare to go somewhere that doesnt have a microwave!  We couldnt live without ours! Love it!

I had one too and it was really really easy to use...didn't get to use it much though as DS wouldn't take a bottle.
I was under the impression that you only needed to sterilise until 3mths old, or is that incorrect? Someone on here will know...

ETA: A quick google search and it looks like there are mixed recommendations about sterilising from 3mths to 1yr... MOH recommends 3mths - "For the first three months of your baby’s life all feeding and preparation equipment needs to be sterilised. After three months thorough washing in hot soapy water, then rinsing is adequate"

Had one here too (we didn't FF we BFd) and had no problems with it. Easy to use (avent one) as it had pictures of what goes where and diagrams in instructions too. Quick and easy imo.

We used one (Avent) for EBM in the early days. Was very easy and had no problems at all with it.

We used it a long time after the 3mths (recommended for sterlising)... our theory being that it was just so easy to throw them in the sterliser after washing them that it was prob a good idea.
