Topic: too clever toby! Posted: 06 October 2006 at 4:34pm |
Well yesterday i thought i heard Toby say "Please", and it was confirmed today (not for the same thing tho luckily emma), and i thought today he said "water please" and just now he dropped something and said "oh dear". he has said his name "boby" and i swear that he is calling his brother sometimes. and he understands the meaning of the word "no" when he uses it (despite my mum saying he wouldnt) and also when i asked the cats name he correctly said "ziggy". gabriel was over 2 years old before he grasped that concept and even now only calls the cat "cat". bloody hell - he just said "dinosaur".

My youngest is a couple of weeks behind Toby and we are getting a lot of little words too. She says "no" and shakes her head (today was because she wanted a banana and NOT a biscuit lol), and she calls "Nannah" ALL the time. Maybe its a second oldest thing but anyways good on Toby. He's doing very well!

Ayja is doing the same at the mo, just an explosion of random words that she is coming up with. she can say Ayja (which is pretty easy), sometimes she calls Paris mama.. i spose she is a bit like a bossy mum, lol, but other times she'll call her "Pam-bis" were sitting looking at dresses the other day on the comp and she just points and goes "dress", something will happen like she drops a toy or can't find something and she goes *gasp* "oh no!" with her hands as if she's like "where is it" kinda thing. so funny. Paris has a talking my little pony.. that good morning sunshine one.. and Ayja LOVES it to pieces, (ie, if paris has it where she can reach she will get it and lug it around the house with her) when you turn it on it sits up and says "good morning mommy, can i have a kiss" so she kisses it, then it goes "brush my hair please" so she gets the brush, or her hand and plays with its hair, then she puts it's dummy in and it sucks it and then lies down and goes "aaahhhh, ........ goodnight" to which she usually turns her head like it does and pretends to sleep. I have only seen her do the full thing a few times over the last few days.. before then it was bits and pieces. I should try and get it on video.. it's just so cute.
We found it quite hard after what happened with Joey cos a few days before that Ayja had learnt to say "jo-jo" which is what we called him.. and she'd sit in her highchair at lunch and if the door was open she'd be going "jo-jo, jo-jo" and looking as if expecting him to come in the door.
It's so neat that all our little toddlers and starting to take off with the walking and talking thing.
But i must say.. dinosaur - that's a big word for a little guy. Well done Toby!

ooh yeah, with the shoes, we got ayja some a few weeks back, and she is funny, you mention going anywhere now and she goes to the rack in the hallway and gets her shoes and hat.. then will go and get a pair of my shoes too, and paris's sometimes as well. even if it's hours from when we are leaving (never mention plans to go somewhere in front of her) and she has begun undoing her shoes when she gets home from daycare, and once we take em off she goes and toddles off to put them on the rack. but then, she's always had that thing for shoes.. so i guess it stems a bit from that too, cos other times she'll just pic up random shoes or slippers from the shoe rack and carry them around or bring them up to us to put on her

Yay Toby.....clever boy!!
Zaara says MILK (in hindi) clearly...she will pat my boob and say milk milk milk untill I give it to her!
She also says PA...pointing to her Papa. But wont say Mum....I tried soooo hard when I say "Say Mama Zaara" she says milk....Arrrgggg.
Zaara Also makes sounds...like when we went for a walk and she saw a dog...she pointed and said woof woof. And when she saw a cat she says "tish tish" because thats how my Aunt called over the cat. Its sooo funny!!
