This is kinda stupid research if you ask me.
But it was brought to my attention today that in superfreakanomics a book that teens and early 20s are reading it says that car seats don't help in accidents. This is based on the paper
here I only skim read it, but from what I can tell it isn't taking into account that american's have a habit of putting their children into their car seats with their big puffa jackets on making that the child doesn't have the carseat straps pulled close to their body meaning that they compress in an accident and the child slides out, nor rear facing.
It concerns me that young easily influenced people are reading this and I know some
believe it.
Off to do more research to see if this paper was discredited
