Has anyone had any experience with these, I dont think I will be looking at the $3-4k vintage models but more like the modern day sleepover ones.

Wow that's pretty cool (just watched the demo on their site - bit of a stroller addict here!). Can you buy them in NZ? I saw a lady with one of the huge old school ones a while back and was so curious as to the practicalities of the beast! But this one just looks like a cool, practical pram (although why bassinettes need to have hoods is beyond me). Sorry i'm not much help!

I have a sleepover and love it. We have the classic and love the way it pushes. Not to keen on the liner chassis.

Mummyof2ofeach, do you find it hard to fold down and move around shops? I think I will go for htis pram however there are none in the south Island for me to try out I dont think, so will have to purchase sight unseen..... I have heard people complain about having to fold it down, and taking the main bassinet part off.
Yup you can get it through babyonthemove.co.nz :)

Just as a cheaper option for the first 6-9months
use one of these with a capsule thats what I have for my baby due next week. (i went to local plunket and have managed to hire brand new from the box a safety1st seat, happi insert & click it wheels for $80 for the year. I
found they are nice & light to lift in and out of boot and not disturb baby if napping
or a phil & teds peanut & smart http://philandteds.com/products/push/smart
I was looking at the peanut/smart but already have the P&T Explorer pram ( as this my 3rd baby) and soft cocoon basinette that slots into the P&T for walks from home or just take cocoon for longer naps at familys houses etc
$1000 is a lot of money in my opinion to buy sight unsean. but its your choice, your $$ and your baby. Just throwing around some different options.

I'm not trying to scaremonger, just inform babies shouldn't be left in capsules for lo g peiods of ime, even driving. Their heads can slump forward and can compromise their airway. You can get supports that help keep their head upriht and airway clear. I would inclined to eiher have a buggy that lays lat or a carrier rather than the snap and go Link
Eta I love the Silvercross prams they are beautiful.

I dont find it hard to fold down. It is very light. You can take the bassinet/seat off to make is lighter when putting it into your car. You will need a bigger boot. I love having my babies faceing me. And i also love having them laying down in a bassinet when they are little.
I do not like the idea of tiny babies sitting up in carseats in those pram wheels. And i also dont like babies in a pram that only faces out and has hardly any padding. But thats just me.
I believe you get what you pay for. I like Quality.
Im sure there is babyonthemove in chch?? so they should be able to order one in for you to look at or try if they dont already have one?

Girls Rock: The silver cross pram comes with a carseat capsule that you can clip on (can only order this from overseas though) so I wont have to worry about what you suggested..
Thats what I like about the silvercross, its soo pretty and seems so versatile. capsule with base that clips onto pram/ bassinet/ moses basket/ forward and rear facing/ huge basket underneath for shopping and new born can lie falt in a lovely pram.
Only bugger ist he price which is actually o.k. when you look at everything you get and the fact that if I have baby number 2 soon after number 1 I would need to get another pram.

thanks for tips/words of wisdom ladies..I wasnt offended at all
Im on my 3rd baby
so well aware of all the warnings etc about capsules thats why I got the happi insert which fits under the capsule fabric and a prem head/body support from plunket as baby is expected to be between 6lb & 6lb6. The base also has 3 incline levels for small babies to keep them on the safest angle.
The Only reason I hired this time (as brought brand new both times for other children for safety reasosn) was because they were also brand new straight out of the boxes at the Plunket hire centre and the safety 1st click wheels - it is specially designed for the safety 1st designer brand new capsule they also gave me so its nice and reclined not upright position it "cliks/snaps" into the wheels very safely (without using a strap) just like it "clicks/snaps"into the base in the car.
I live in a small town 3-4min drive from the main street and usually you can get a park right outside the shop/bank you go into, so baby is not in the capsule for hours and hours like if you live in Auckland and have to drive across to a mall/shopping centre etc.
I also have the P&T & Coocoon basinette for longer trips/sleeps/walks
The silvercross looks beautiful, my main comment is that its alot of money to spend sight unseen and if I was buying it I would definately want to see it / have a play before I brought it, so it sounds great if you can.

Yeah you are right, I NEED to try it before I buy unless I can guarantee a refund within a month or something.. I will have to look into it.
Do you have a doubles pram? I am planning on just one baby and if I have another having them 3-4 years apart but you know this was a surprise so the next could very well be too!

I have a P & T E3v2 with the doubles seat which I used for Miss 5 & Miss 3 combined when they were little.
I also brought a double side by side stroller (2nd hand) lay back for when they were 20m & newborn (P&T cocoon fitted snuggly as in newborn side and toddler could sit up) and I also had a snap & go for when older DD was at preschool and I juts had baby.
I did a lot of walking from home so liked to have the P&T at the front door ready to go at anytime and the side by side in the boot, I like the convience of options and not having to transfer prams in and out of car all the time. Time is precious when you have little ones!

I have a five month old and started off with a Urban mountain buggy decided to sell it as it took up my entire boot. I bought online a silver cross surf, had never seen one in real life just videos and pictures on the net i am so happy i got it is the best purchase yet. It is one awesome pram it is so light and compact anyone who buys one I'm sure will not be disappointed. and you can buy accessory packs to change the color too

The website www.babycafe.co.nz also has Silver Cross prams at really good prices - I really like my SilverCross Surf - very light.
