Mothers Helpers link is holding a "Networking Meeting" in early December with a variety of agencies involved in helping mums in the community. We are hosting and will be taking the opportunity to celebrate the work of these agencies. To do that, I wanted to hear from some mums who have been helped by them. If you have been helped by any of the agencies below, please can you give your thanks or a brief description of how you were helped, etc?

- Plunket
- La Leche League
- Ante natal classes
- Doulas
- Midwives
- Tamariki Ora (well child)
- Fresh Perspective
- Bellyful
- Parent port
- Maternal mental health
- Affinity services
- Trauma & Birth Stress (TABS)
- Young parents support
- Mental Health Foundation
- Post-natal distress support network
- Well Women
- Psychosis Charitable Trust
- Midwives
- Dayspring Trust
- Auckland Single Parents Trust
- Birthright
- Doulas

If you'd prefer to send it to me in a PM (particularly if you want your name printed) please do so. These comments will go in a card to representatives from these agencies.

Hope is ok with Oh Baby to ask for this! Thanks!

I dont really know what to say? I wasn't really helped by any of the above list, I got most of my answers from here, friends or FB pages.

La Leche League - provided me with the opportunity to meet a group of wonderful like-minded mothers who have become great friends. I have felt supported and encouraged in my role as a mother and the choices I have made in regards to breastfeeding and parenting. I think that without LLL the mild PND I was suffering from would have become far far worse.

SPACE (run through playcentre) was hugely helpful to me.
Mostly on tips with sleeping and songs and things to "play" with a baby.
Also has free afternoon tea and the opportunity to talk to other mums with babies of about the same age.
Kiara is 3 and Teagan is 2, now we're expecting our long awaited 3rd!

I had excellent help from Plunket in the family rooms and also help with careats etc :) I know not everyone gets slong with their nurses, but I've found mind helpful and kind and easy to talk to.
My Midwife was also a major source of support and I really valued her knowledge and help with verything, made the whole process very *cough cough easy! lol
