Topic: Glandular Fever Posted: 18 October 2011 at 7:26pm |
Anyone had it? Particularly with kids?
I'm lucky in that I still only work part-time and my son had just been accepted into 30hrs daycare/wk which allows me to sleep all day :(
I get every single virus that is going around however and currently after the last stomach virus still not eating. Have just picked up some "Immuno Forte" - hopefully that will help.
Any other tips appreciated - especially with kids! I have had this for several months now and 2nd relapse. Combine that with a tantruming 2yo!!

I had it as a teen, and kept having relapses well into my 20s - also managed to give it to my whole family. Found the best thing for it was "Astraforte" by greenridge, I still take astraforte to this day if I start to feel run down or come down with a cold, and it usually gets rid of it. Very expensive, tastes like crap, but very very effective I found. My younger brother saw a homeopath with it, and she managed to kick it for him pretty quickly too, so maybe something to look in to?
Poor you, must be damn hard with kids though - I remember falling asleep at my desk during school cert

I have been wondering whether I have this. I'm getting sick a lot and the fatigue is doing my head in. Been this way for months. Keep getting viruses and things like sinus infections I have never had before. Dr noted I had swollen glands last visit so wondering whether I should test for glandular. I'm having more tired days than I do feeling normal.

I had it and it took me two years to come right. You need lots of ester c - like 6000mg of a good quality one each day - and a multi vitamin targetted towards immune support - I use system well ultimate immunity.
Must be hell with kids. Good luck and rest when you can.

Yeah - you should see my house :( Thank God for daycare and only working part-time! Can't even manage part-time work at the moment!!
Day 5 of a stomach virus I just can't get rid of. The Pharmacist says that 70% of your immune system goes on your gut so it's really struggling to fight this one :(
Yeah it's dreadful.. I drove DS to daycare and picked some stuff up from work and I'm wiped out. Crazy.

I had it 5 years ago and they told me I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I get episodes pretty much all the time and if i dont force myself to do things I go into a downward spiral and get so sick and exhausted (im pretty much exhausted all the time now)

I had this years ago, it was horrendous. I knew it wasn't going to be pretty when the doc gave me 6weeks of work straight up. My then other half caught it, pretended he hadn't and carried on like normal until he was so sick he needed to be in hospital. And take butt drugs. Moral of the story - rest rest rest! Eat well. Let mountains of washing pile up and forget to vacum etc, just rest. I know its easier said then done with a toddler but its the best thing.

Me too! I first got sick at only 11, had it all through skool really, finally got better(mostly) at 16/17ish, then had another relapse at 20, then had my kids & it actually seems to have helped! i still get extremely tired quite often, but know to pace myself etc. & if there is a bug going around, im almost certain to catch it.
B12 injections were what i found were the best energy boosters.
I hope your g.fever doesnt last too long. get as much help as you can!
