oh that sucks. You just cant win can you. I love seeing chubby babies, i think thats how they are ment to look. Ive had one chubby bubba and one bubba that had to be force fed i know which one was the healthiest.
Next time you get a remark like that why dont you just be blunt and say, would you rather i starve her? Watch their mouths drop open.

Chubby babes are very cute!
Not much you can do about it! (I had a chubby babe too) Just hang around older ladies (of around 70 years) as they are always the ones to love rolly babies
When they start walking it all evens out

Abby and Micheal were chubby babies and i used to let comments bother me, but the way I figure it I definately knew they weren't starving and at least if they got sick they had some puppy fat to lose and it didn't matter. Jayden on the other hand has always been a skinny boy and if he's sick for even one day he looks like he's been starved since birth. Either way you are never going to win.
All I say now about abby when comments are made is "Yes she is very healthy isn't she". Kids need a bit of meat on them. My brother was always a short chubby boy right from birth and during childhood he was what they would now call an obese child. 29 years later he is 6 foot 2 and as lanky as they come.
Enjoy her and know she is beautiful and healthy and bugger what anyone else says.

Just to add on my niece was around 10 - 11 kilos at 5 months she had rolls on her little fat rolls (so cute) and people used to tell my sister her daughter would always struggle and be grow up to be overweight, and she should watch what she eats. My sister pretty much told them to stuff it and my niece is now a very skinny 11 year old. People are so damm hung up on weight now but a babies weight means nothing, and isn't an indicator of how they will be when they are older.
Sorry for the rant can you tell this pisses me of

I got that with Andrew, even after he was born. He was born 8 pound 4 and was told he was a large baby. I was born 9pound 15 and 1/2 and hubby was 11 pound 4 we were huge. Andrew gained weight good and was told by my friend who is a nurse who did all his jabs for us that he is healthy and is not big. Now at 2 1/2 some children that were smaller than him at birth are heavier than him. But it comes down to WHO CARES!!!! They are healthy that is all that matters.
This reminds me of a doco that was on a little while ago about the big baby in England and child welfare got invoved as they thought she was over feeding him, it really got on the mothers nerve when people told her "he's a big boy". They found out later he had some rare thing that made him big and it was fine, he spent a bit of time in hospital to finally sort it out.
I would rather see a baby with rolls than a stick thin baby, rolls are so much cuter.

After giving birth to a baby who was distinctly ratlike lol and didn't have one ounce of fat on her, to see her now with her chubby thighs and little double chin just melts my heart!!!! Don't worry about what anyone else says. Whatever comment they may have just follow up with "Yes she's beautiful isn't she?"

Just tell the to buzz off....honestly what business is that of theirs.....arrrgggg.
Zaara is not chubby and I always wondered why...am I not feeding her enough...but when ever plunket came around they were very happy with her weight....she just looks lean. people look at Zaara and say oh she is not a chubby bub...is she not feeding well....I keep quiet and pass her on to them...they pick her up and say...my she is of a nice weight huh?....Yah Biatch...she is (I dont actually say it...but sure think it).
All babies are different and they change later so ignore them. Madison in beautiful and healthy and that is all that matters!!

Just like everyone else says "Dont Worry" she is gorgeous and healthy and thats all that matters.
My daughter is now 10yrs. She was 10pounds when born and continued to grow fast. She was chubby and everyone I mean EVERYONE used to constantly harrass me about her size to the point where I took her to the doctor I was sooooo upset. He said nothing to worry about. NOW people are telling at 10yrs she is soooooo thin and does she have eating issues... HONESTLY where does it stop.
Ellenmumof2 Maddie is just gorgeous!!!!!!!

Exactly Ellen - Maddie is gorgeous, don't worry about other people's ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuude comments. Pull out that "yeah, I was thinking of starving her for a few weeks" line - that will shut them up Joshie is a big baba too, and we always get comments about how fat he is. I tell people to shut up now. Can't be arsed with it

My partner was a bbbbbbbbbbbiiiiiiiiiggggggggg boy - was born a 10pounder and as a baby was really chubby - now at 28 weighs only 63kgs - he's now a runt!!!!
Mitch will be the same - he is in the 97thpercentile in the plunket book.
At the end of the day - Im sure these people pointing out the fact that our babies are big for their age are in no way perfect themselves!

my bubbas were all big and it didn't help that Jake was in Japan and was enormous compared to most of the babies there. However, he actually was a baby model for a while so he can't have been that bad. I think girls gwet it worse being chubby though. Boys can get "isn't he a big strong boy", but girls get chubby and the implication that they will have weight problems later. it's really annoying and I think can be damaging, if the comments continue.
But madison is gorgeous! and looks like such a sweet little thing, so as hard as it is, ignore it, but if it's family I would have a word to them. My grandfather has always refered to my cousin's daughter as "fat girl" (charming right?" and now she is eight I am really worried about it,. Her mother doesn't seemed concerned. cik
Okay, now I've stopped threadjacking, madison is gorgoues and people should keep their comments limited to things along those lines!

Ellen, Olivia is a kg and a bit less than Maddy and gets the "What a big baby" comments as well. I normally say "yeah not bad for a kid with a heart defect, silent reflux and wont eat". Most people are a little surprised to see this pink cheeked specimen that has a bad medical rap sheet so hastily agree.
It annoys me a lot as it was comments like this that did more damage than good when I was growing up. I'm looking forward to teaching Olivia it's not what you look like that is important.

people used to say that to me all the time when mikey was little. i used to just take it as a compliment because to me, a chubby baby is a healthy gorgeous baby.
don't take offence, madison is a beautiful wee girl and you have nothing to worry about.
