my baby is sick part 2

Well after 12 hours of dry nappies ended up in a&e for 5 hours....to be told that she has a mild ear infection, mild throat infection and a mild stomach bug.

Spent an hour giving her 10mls of water every 10mins...woohoo managed to get her to keep 70mls of water down...the most liquid in 2 days.

by the time we got home, she finally had a wet nappy...all be it 16hours after her last one.

she has jsut drunk 50mls of water and is off to bed..

no forumla or solids for the next 24hrs.

oh hunny its horrable when bubs is sick here hoping she gets well real fast big hugs

50 mls is good! hopefully it improves from here. poor little darling!

Yeah the gastro bug was from a mum in my antenatal group, who knew she had it but came anyway.

and the ear and throat infection, i think she got from playgroup, there was a little girl with a cold, who was constantly trying to hug her etc.

she seems a little better this morning, woke up at 2.15am and drank 30mls of water, and then at 7 drank 50mls...she is asleep at the moment...when she wakes again i will give her another 50mls and if she keeps that down the next 50mls i will see if she can take some forumla and just see how we go.

it really has been a long couple of days

ohhh its a worry aye, Glad to hear that she is keeping her water down.

Sorry to hear that your little one is not well (I'll say it again - grrrrrr sick people infecting others!).

Well Rhiannon was doing well keeping water down, so this morning we startd to give her 50mls of forumla every couple of hours...well wouldnt you know it....at 11.30 she started throwing up everywhere again....and is now refusing pamol or water...i hpe we are not bck at square one.

And today is harder because i now have the bug and im feeling miserable myself (and im really hoping that if i am pregnant then this bug isnt going to effect the fetus)

well ended up back at afterhours tonight as bubs starting throwing up again

no forumla for at least 24hrs...have been given some glucose replacement drinks for her and i have to put a urine bag on her over nite to take a sample to make sure that she doesnt have a uti.

I am so tired and stressed with my baby being sick and then being sick myself....i jsut want this to end and to have my happy family back

I think my baby is getting better....she had her first sh*tty nappy in 4 days this morning....and man did she make up for it

She drank 100mls of forumla (watered down, only 1 scoop)

she burped but didnt throw up, she smiled at us for the first time in 2 days...and actually played with some toys this morning...and is now asleep IN HER COT....not my arms....

Now for me to just get better

shes still not 100% and ive jsut had an email from my playcentre telling me that there is chickenpox going around...man i hope she doesnt get that.

she is at present on 1 scoop of formula to 100mls water every 3 hours...but she is starting to want that every 2 hours...so this afternoon i am going to try her on full strength and see how it goes.
