Topic: Can anybody recommend a Waikato midwife? Posted: 12 June 2012 at 9:36pm |
Hi there,
Just wondering if anybody out there has any recommendations on a midwife in the Waikato region - pref Hamilton or Te Awamutu.
Just moved over here from Gisborne and had to leave my awesome midwife so fingers crossed I find one just as lovely as her!
Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)
Thanks

Debbie Fawcett is brilliant as is her backup Sallie Turner. They are on Lorne St near the hospital.I think its babies r us?
Otherwise you could head to Waterford or river ridge birthing centres and get a list of midwives from them.

Dawn McHugh is based out of waterford and I have heard great things, and although my PG didn't progress she was fantastic to deal with, I will be going back to her without hesitation when I get my BFP

Cambridge Midwives are really good...particularly Jo Clark, Jo Mason, Sue Duncan and Heather Sears. I think Jo Clark is working in Waikato Hospital at the moment though so not available as an independent midwife.
ETA: Some of the midwives travel although you can also go to their clinic in Cambridge.

Thank you for all your feedback! Didn't have much luck as a couple of LMC's I had been recommended were already booked up for October, but went into Matariki Maternity Hosp. and really like the team there so fingers crossed it continues to go well with them.
Thanks again :)

Lena92 - cant recommend Isabella Watson highly enough. Ive had her twice now and shes fab
She an independent midwife and works out of Waikato Womens Hospital or Matariki although is quite popular in TA so you might find shes booked up.
