Hi there, I'm a new Mum and new to this group. Our wee man is 8 days old and the last 2 days have been really tiring. He has either been wanting to be feed or be cuddled and will only settle on me or his dad. Other than suck it up and deal with it which I know is part of it, any tips? Thanks heaps.

Sit yourself on the couch with either the remote or a good book, and just go with it. Always make sure you make the cuppa tea before you sit down and have it waiting for when he nods off.

I always swaddled before feeding so if DD nodded off, she was less likely to notice if I put her down in the cradle. So occasionally she would let me move her.

DD spent the first 3 weeks asleep on me sucking like there was no tomorrow, and sometimes I felt I would never get off the couch. I also became very adept at dozing while sitting with her asleep on my lap. (probably frowned upon!) I'd had a c-section so it forced me to chill for a few weeks, ,which helped speed up my recovery. She ended up being a great little sleeper and BFer. So after about a month she was sleeping longer (in a bed!) so I had some time for me.

Moby wrap! That way you can get off the couch a bit but bubs is still nice and settled on you and your hands are free to chuck a load of washing on or make a sandwich.

And yep, get used to watching a fair bit of tv . DH and I spent every night till 11pm with a baby asleep on each of us for weeks. I thought it was never gonna end, both of us starving to death cos we couldn't get any dinner ready or busting for the loo but not able to go. But in hindsight it was such a short, precious time.

yep totally normal :) its REALLY tiring and you get a bit claustrophobic after hours and hours (i did anyway lol) but it does improve. My girl would cluster feed for 8 hours straight some nights! so id be on the couch from 2pm-10pm with my boobs hanging out haha. but they do it to get your milk supply established so its necessary. hang in there, once you get past this tiring bit it becomes quite lovely
