Can anyone tell me what the options are for delivering your baby in West Auckland? It appears that Waitakere is it unless you want to travel into Parnell to Birthcare. Anyone done anything differently?

I thought about birthing at Helensville this time, but I don't really fancy driving half an hour up there in labour so will just stick to Waitakere Hospital as had not problems with them last time and is only just down the road.

You can do Waitakere and Auckland depending on your midwife. I planned to deliver at Waitakere then had arranged to go to Helensville for aftercare, but ended up just going home the next day instead. SO thats another option.

Now another question that sort of goes.... any recommendations for midwives that are registered to birth at Birthcare?

We've decided to go with Birthcare in Parnell.

I agree with Red, who put me on to Gail in the last pregnancy, and I loved her so much that I am using her again this time

I didn't know that she was registered at birthcare though!! I might look into that, I have an appointment with her next Monday.

She just delivered my wee boy last Tuesday! Glad you have met with her. Had another great water birth.

ooh good to know! im moving back to auckland in a couple of weeks and am TTC now, was just thinking how gutted i am i wont be using my MW here in blenheim she was amazing. so yay ill revisit here when we get our BFP and get her details! :D she might be a busy lady from this publicity haha
