Mumof12be - Congrats on your pregnancy! where abouts do you live? I'm in Chch and am using the same midwife as last time. Rang her within a couple of days of finding out so I could be sure to get her. I know one of my friends chose a midwife that specialised in home births (as that was what she wanted) so if you do have any special requests like that I think it pays to find someone compatible...good luck!

yay booked in my 12 week scan for 3 fridays time - that's only 2 weeks away!! Lots of Christmas shopping to distract me in the mean time :)

Congrates to the new ladies :) we had our 1st scan last friday, which put us back about 9 days. Only one baby!! yay!! healthy little heart beat too. So we are now due 22nd July. cant wait! first midwife app tomorrow whic is going to be a mission with a almost 1y/o

yay kashmir! Don't be worried about taking your little man with you, it'll be fine! I took my 14month old with me on Wednesday and was easy! They had toys for her to play with and I brought a few snacks to keep her occupied.

Updated- New date for meee :) Was so nice to see that wee heartbeat today. Amazing! Only 6.5 weeks along though when I thought I was 7.5, so that is just adds another week that I can't tell anyone!

Its kinda strange but I dont really feel pregnant! I am sick, weird with food and tired sooooo sooo tired and have my prego symptoms but I just cant get my head around the fact that Im pregnant. I kinda makes me feel like Im neglecting the new baby or something i know that sounds stupid. I guess after a long journey with fertility drugs last time and then this one just happening it is alot to get my head around but its strange

Oh jem don't you worry that's soooooooo normal! I felt like that with my first pregnancy probably up until about 20 weeks haha

Congratulations to the new mums! Good to see some others who aren't due till late July - I'm sooo jealous that some of you have their 12 weeks scan soon! Awesome! It also makes it harder that thanks to the DHB of my region I don't get a scan before 12 weeks, so don't even know till then if everything's alright. Gutting. All the more reason not to tell anyone before then, though. I feel the same, Jem! So weird. Good to hear it's normal.

Hey helzbelz im from palmerston north.Congrats on your pregnancy too!! i talked with the doctor and he gave me a few names but they were all gone so dont know wether to just go through the phonebook bit lost now lol. Really want someone good but none of my friends have had kids  so they really can't help.

Phew! I've been trying to login to this forum for weeks!!! I'm due on 11 July, with first baby - and totally get the whole just feeling tired and bleurgh and not feeling pregnant bit. Am nine weeks along and just starting to feel better after the last four weeks of nausea.
i'd love to be part of the secret squirrel facebook page... :) Congrats to all the other mums-to-be...

hey mumof12be, have you had a google search for any midwives in your area? I interviewed a couple before finding one that seemed to fit with what we wanted. What city are you in?

Hi ladies. I have finally got my midwife. Yippee!I studied midwifery a few years back and the lady I have chosen was my closest friend in my class. I told her way back then that I wanted her to deliver my babies when the time comes and even though we haven't seen each other for 7 or 8 years, she is super excited to be my midwife. Seeing her for the first time on Wednesday. Can't wait!! :) It's weird - this last few days, I haven't really felt pregnant at all. When I get up in the morning now my tummy is nearly flat where as before I had a little bump (could have been bloating) also I have had no more morning sickness and have been back to normal with my eating. Am kind of worried that I feel so good. I did another urine pregnancy test last night as wanted to see a nice strong positive - but the line was a bit faint, not as dark as the control line. . .should I be worried? I will talk to my midwife about it on Wednesday but that seems like ages away!!

Hi 1st time mum 2B! how far along are you now?? I wouldn't worry too much... I have the same thing, somedays more bloated than others and tend to b at end of day and now in the morning hardly at all, I think it depends on what you eat the night before/drunk etc. maybe also? And maybe at the start I was on more of a look out for a bump in the mornings (esp with feeling worse) so it seemed bigger? now i can tell a lot more clearly. I have days, mainly moments that I dont feel preg. at all, i am 10.5 weeks tomorrow and after about 9.5-10 week mark feel like i have wayyy more energy, nearly back to myself but then mid arvo hit with the tired, a bit blah, want certain foods thing - wayyy better than what was, and its funny, i am glad but then at same time hope everythings ok!! its strange huh. Cant wait for my 12 week scan which is next week on Friday. So glad you have a midwife, and someone you know! thats ideal!

oh don't worry about the bump, that's not a baby bump yet - I think not til about 4 months til something is noticeable - unfortunately it's just bloating right now :) It will go down once you start to feel better, then up again when your uterus pops out of your pelvis. From my experience, and those of my friends who have had babies anyway.
Anna what time is your scan on Friday? Mine is 9.10am

LouLou mine is at 8.30am in the morning, fly home to Blenheim at 5.45pm that night for christmas/new year so its all go that day, can't wait, just hoping and praying everythings just perfect :) yay we don't have long to go.... 1.5 weeks
