Hi all....
Well I got to hear my wee ones heart beat yesterday!! (Yes it's definitely just one in there!! Both my husband and I breathed a sigh of relief...we had been told a v high chance of twins as my hcg was v high) Such a special moment. I was in tears. Everything is looking great however I've been told I will have to have a c section due to some prior health issues. To be honest I feel fine about it, if not relieved to have the decision made for me and to know ill have an exact date to look forward to....what I'm really a little worried about is being looked down on a little bit by other people...it's obvious that there is a definite push for natural all the way out there, and people are FULL of opinions....I'm sure time will tell on how I deal with it.
Hope everyone is feeling ok....my 7 1/2 weeks have brought a little reprieve from symptoms so I'm enjoying it while I can! Xx M
Ps have just found out my best friend is getting married in Apr 13....and I'm bridesmaid,,,,,I will be as big as a house!!

Hi Miriamsusannah, glad to hear things have plateaued at 7.5 weeks, I wouldn't worry about other people's opinions in regards to C-sections, the most important thing is that your baby and you are as safe and comfortable as possible.
Is anyone else getting a lot of dizziness? I am six weeks and this week I have been struggling with being light headed, I have started to eat breakfast before having a shower and then not rushing around. Can't wait until these hormones settle down.
By the way my id has changed from Jane100159 to chchjem

Casey if you feel worried you may as well go to the doc since it's free just to calm your mind, but my first pregnancy I had possibly what I would call cramps on a number of occasions and my midwife told me they are growing pains etc this time round I've had back ache, but no cramps, so who knows :)
MiriamSusannah I think the feeling out there about natural vs caesar seems worse than it actually is, if you spoke to anyone I'm sure they would be more than supportive, especially given the fact you can't actually help it! So long as you and baby are happy and healthy that is the main thing, if anyone looks down on you just tell them to get lost. We're just waiting on 'the call' from my friend who was induced this morning and ended up going into theatre at 8pm tonight for a caesar, sometimes you just can't plan these things, you just need to go with it
chchjem, I remember that dizziness, I had it quite bad with my first pregnancy, but this time round it hasn't been so bad. It hasn't forced me to sit down yet, so that's good :)

chchjem I have definately had a lot of dizziness and light headedness, right from the get go. Do you have low blood pressure? My MW said that is probably a big cause but that dizziness is very common and a 'good' sign!? She said to make sure I always have lots of fluids etc. I am eating A LOT as well - can't believe how HUNGRY I am all the time!!! I wake up starving! Miriam I know what you mean about it being such an emotional time when you have your scan, so precious and special! could watch your baby all day right!? I have my 12 week scan booked on Dec. 21st (officially 12 weeks Dec. 24th but will be home in Blenheim for christmas), My MW said if I want I can have this scan as early as 11 weeks (which would be Dec 17th) as apparently your '12 week scan' can be done anytime between 11-13 weeks! So tempted to make it as soon as possible but think might wait it out...dont know...has anyone else heard of this ?

Yes my midwife said the same thing re the 12 week scan that it can be done between 11-13 weeks! Also very hungry here all the time and if I dont eat then I start to feel sick - havent had as much of the dizziness this time round but I am at home but with my first two when I was working I used to get it alot, I think its the rushing round getting ready for work etc Midwife has said I am due about the 21st July - going off scan, slightly confusing as I know what week I had AF and the scan is 11 days out from it but not alot I can do about it just means I am repeating week 6 of pregnancy again! LOL

Hi Everyone,
Congratulations on the good news everyone! I am 8 weeks pregnant and due date is 11th July. Really excited but very nervous as my last pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks. I am waiting for thew first trimester to end with all being ok so I can genuiney celebrate. This will be our first baby and I hope this time things work out fine.

Hi again ladies - congrats to those of you that have joined since I last posted. So I rang my Dr about the spotting and she wanted me to go in and get checked. They did a urine pregnancy test that showed a strong positive then sent me for another (my third!) scan. Baby still had a good strong heartbeat which was such a relief! The bleeding has stopped so DP and I will not be having sex for a while as I don't want to risk bleeding again. Thi scan put me back another 2 days but the lady said that they always go by the due date given at the first scan. So by that I am 8 weeks tomorrow - but by the scan i'd be 8 weeks on Sunday?! Confusing. I am still off my food but the day time nausea and the all day tiredness seem to be wearing off a bit and not really hitting now till late afteroon, early evening. Yippee :)

Hi ladies Hope everyone is feeling okay today. I had my dating scan this morning and got my date pushed back 3 days so now due on 22nd July. It was so awesome to see the little tiny baby and we got to see it's heart beat :) Im feeling slightly more relaxed now but still have a long way to go until I can totally relax (or maybe that wont happen at all...?) I'm not feeling too bad today but just really tired and have had a headache for the last few days. I have moments of being light-headed and nauseous but have only been sick a couple of times so cant really complain. Take care of yourselves xx

Welcome Nikkie! so so sorry to hear of your missed miscarriage, I had never heard of them until I became preg. and did some research - if you dont mind me asking, what symptoms did you have then? bleeding or cramping at all? or did all your symptoms just vanish? I am so afraid of that happening and its like how can you tell?? I am 8.5 weeks today, my symptoms have eased a huge amount and I am similar to u 1st time mum to be - hits late afternoon, just tiredness and a lil nausea but nothing too bad.

Aw, how exciting Anna. I told my mum and stepdad the day we found out. Will be telling DP's parents when we get to 10 weeks (his sister is pregnant too - 10 weeks ahead of us) and she told them at 10 weeks,so he wants to too. Everyone else we will tell on Christmas day. Can't wait! Trying to think of cool ways of telling everyone!

Yay! exciting :) I know ! how do you say it?! esp. with the buzz of christmas and lots of ppl around, I think by the time u 'get everyone together' they would have guessed ! i have gained a little weight already and to me I think you can tell a bit, but i think i just know my body so well that i notice the teeny bump! the weight gain thing definately though as I was very much into exercise, fitness and health and thats all gone out the window so I think people will notice before I say.. just want the days and weeks to go by fast huh ;)

It's funny, cos when we were trying for our first baby I always thought how cool it would be to surprise everyone on Christmas Day with the news but we didn't get pregnant til january, but now that I will actually be 12 weeks on Christmas Day I have already told about 50 people anyway haha

Hi Anna,
Congratulations!
Since it was my first pregnancy I was not as alert. My symtomps had started to disappear and I never got an cramping or any other symptoms till I saw spotting. In missed miscarriage you dont come to know till after a couple of weeks and eventually the spotting led to bleeding and lots of cramping. I was in the hospital in a really bad state and got a d&c done next day.
So if you have any doubts get a scanning done for your peace of mind. Its an unfortunate thing and we cant control it. I am praying things go well for all of us this time.
Cheers,

Hi everyone,
I'm a bit later to join as I'm only 5 1/2 weeks and my due date is the 30th July! It's my first time being pregnant and my partner and I are extremely excited! It is so interesting reading about how you are all feeling. I haven't got any symptoms really, aside from eating a lot. I'd like to join the private forum if possible, if someone could send me the password? I'm glad to have found this place as I'm busting to talk to people, but we don't wanna tell family & friends just yet! Christmas day sounds great! :)
