Hello all, I'm new to this forum but I'm looking for some info or to hear other peoples experiences with partial molar pregnancy?
This is my story- my husband and I found out in November that I was 4 weeks pregnant, just over the moon about it, we hadn't been trying but the plan was to try in Jan and I had always been worried that it would take a while so was ecstatic to learn that we were. Had some one sided pain so GP sent me for an early scan around 5.5 weeks to check for ectopic, couldn't see the foetal pole yet but egg sack etc all good and in the right place. They did find a large cyst off one of my ovaries but no one seemed to worry about it. Everything seemed to be progressing well until a scan at 9 weeks showed our little bubba but no heart beat meaning we had a missed miscarriage and baby was measuring 7.5 weeks. As you all know this was just so devastating- to think everything is fine and learn that actually you had been carrying a dead baby around for a couple of weeks, it's just is so hard to even explain the pain you feel... Anyway had a D&C the week before Christmas. Needless to say it was an awful time but the only thing I was focused on was trying again ASAP... 4 weeks later comes a diagnosis of partial molar pregnancy and at the same time we learnt it would have been a wee girl. So now after researching I learnt that I could get cancer from the molar cells and also it means waiting up to a year to ttc again..
Tumour hCG levels have taken 7 weeks to get down to normal range of under <5 and I'm 3 as of this weekend. Docs said Now onto monthly bloods for 6 months and then if all well we can ttc then.

I'm wondering if anyone has had similar story to me and also if anyone got preg before the 6months sentance?? Would be grateful just to hear other peoples experience!

Big hugs hun, I haven't been in this situation myself but a friend has, she fell PG again after 6 months (from time of diagnosis) she was really worried the doctors etc would tell her off for getting UTD again without waiting the full time, but all was fine and her daughter is going to be 1 in a couple of weeks xx

Hi there, sorry to hear about this. This happened to a friend of mine...she too had to wait 6 months before TTC again to make sure there were no cancer cells. Her and her hubby tried again after the 6 months and 4 months later were pregnant again and have since had their little boy! So don't give up hope. I have also spoken to another lady who this happened to who successfully had 3 children after the molar pregnancy.

It sounds like you are getting good follow up and you will probably get good follow through when you conceive again. I know it feels like an eternity, but you will get there. And hey, at least you know you CAN get pregnant and that was without even trying! Good luck.

6 months may feel like forever but it's really important to wait the full time. If you were to accidentally get pregnant it might be ok but if it becomes a full molar pregnancy chemo etc are necessary as you don't want to do that pregnant. Good luck. I know it's tough waitin but just think youre giving your future baby the best chance!!!
