When my son was born I was only able to breastfeed for about two weeks, I had very bad pain and we ended up getting my sons tongue and lip tie cut hoping it would make a difference. It didn't. I have been to a lactation consultant and seen multiple midwives who say I am positioning my son well. I had to take a break from breastfeeding and instead pumped and topped him up with formula until he was 6 weeks. Since he has been 6 weeks I have been trying to breastfeed again and definitely thought things had improved but now the last 24 hrs have been hell with bf. My son doesn't seem to open his mouth very wide no matter how hard I try and after he feeds my nipple is white on the end and hurts so badly. Please please if you have any advice I would really appreciate it. I am so wanting to breastfeed but I end up crying with how painful it is.

Sounds like he is pinching the end of your nipple. My son did that before he had his tongue tie released. Has your sons tongue tie healed back together?

You could try nipple shields? They worked for me before we got the tie sorted out

Have you looked into Reynauds syndrome also called vasospasm?
