I can only slighty remember from a post Jess did that having PCOS can hinder BF. You may not have a good milk supply. Did I read this right? and if I did is there anything that can be done to get a good milk supply up other than expressing and taking milk flow tablets?

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I had issues with establishing supply with Andrew so have had NaturoFarm Milk Flow spray this time around which seems to have done wonders. I've also increased the amount of protein I eat (almonds mainly) and drink LOADS of water (3 x 1.25L Pump Bottles a day)

Yer i had nothing from the get go apparently the fact that i have PCOS and i took clomid to get pregnant hindered that for us. I tried expressing even tho i had nothing and it just didnt happen. Id have a talk to your midwife about it if your worried.

I didnt think anything of it but i didnt leak AT ALL during my pregnancy and my boobs didnt really increase very much in size.

Thanks, i'm trying to prepare myself now for it. I had problems with supply with Andrew but it wasn't picked up straight away. I think i'm seeing my MW next week so we will have a talk then.

Has anyone else had results with the milk flow spray or tablets? I used the tablets last time, so I might go and have a look at the spray.

How are you going chicka? Still any concerns? I think mine was due to the clomid more so than the PCOS.

I recently needed to boost my supply and was recommended Blessed Thistle capsules by the pharmacist. I was a bit dubious but took one with each meal for 2 days and woke up looking like Pamela Anderson. Boy do they work!!

A friend of mine has PCOS and she had not trouble breastfeeding - she knocked it on the head about 11 months.

I had a talk with my MW and i'm going to express from when my milk comes in - she's letting me used her "milking machine" I used it last time and it was very easy and comfy to use, then take it down to my friends one that is hand held if I still need to after I have established a flow. She did think that having PCOS might impact but very little. I'm also going to take the tablets from when my milk comes in to help boost the supply. I have DH off work for a few weeks so it'll be ok to sleep whenever with Andrew around as DH will be there to control him, and with any milk I express at least DH can feed the new baby if i'm that tired and just have to sleep.
