Topic: How to find a playcentre Posted: 25 November 2006 at 9:31pm |
Is there any special tricks other than asking around, to find lists of local preschool activities like playcentres, kindergartens, etc. I have recently moved and haven't found all that much on offer in my new area. I'm sure there will be places but not sure how to find out where they are?

There's a playcentre in milson just round the corner from me.. near the yellow shopping centre - have you tried there? i haven't been there so have no idea.
ooh also, if you ring the cuba st plunket rooms here in palmy.. they keep a list of all the kindys, playgroups, playcentres.. anything toddler realted even down to disabled support groups and all sorts.. they will send you the list if you ring and ask them.. and it has the days and where they are and what times etc.
give them a ring.

I went to Park Road palycentre here in Palmy many many years ago. I would give the family centre a call and ask them how to get in touch with it?
Kindy's go into to Ruahine Kindergarten Centre in Church street and they would be able to help you. But as far as I know you can just enrol you child into the kindy you want them to go to.
If you are looking for activities for pre schoolers, i'm taking Andrew back to gym at the YMCA. It does help that his daddy works there so it is going to be very cheap for us. They have gym on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

ukidz. They take different groups of the kids from the big kids part each week, and some tots from the littlies as well.

Yeah he just said to me thats the other daycare that comes in. Andrew's daycare goes in but only the bigger kids (4 year olds). He loves climbing so i'm going to take him back to the public classes on Wednesday thats the day hes out of daycare.

I would love to take the girls if i didn't work so much, I used to go there and was a gymnast up til i was 17.. lol.. gave up on the highest level, got sick of it. Stupid teenage decisions - should've stuck with it... did wonders for keeping me toned. Feel that's slipping away now
