MY 10 month old has really long sleeps in the afternoon, like today for instance she went down at 2pm and now at 5.15pm she is still asleep. It seems to be coming a habit and i am still very aware of SIDS. She will wake up at say 7 for her breakfast and then go back to sleep till 9 - 10am, then have a sleep again around 12-1pm for 3-4 hours. She has no problems going to sleep at night and sleeps right through. Is this normal? Is she having a groth spurt? Alot of the time i manage to get lunch into her before she goes for a nap, but sometimes she completely misses her lunch and doesn't eat again til dinner.

Maybe it's a growth spurt?? Morgan would (and still does) wake around 7am, back down about 9.30/10 for 2-3hrs then another sleep at 3ish until 4.30/5pm. dinner and bed around 7pm, sleeps through the night.

oops, cut my post short. how long is her morning sleep? you said she has breakfast and then goes down for a sleep until around 9 and then back down at 12 so it mustn't be too long, perhaps she's catching up on sleep in the afternoon? sorry - i'm not much help!

Briona's a bit older but until recently her schedule has been:
7am wake, breakfast, change, play
8.30am back to bed
11.00am wakes up again, brief morning tea (biscuit), play
11.45am lunch, back to bed by just after 12
Finally wakes up for the day at about 2pm (play, afternoon tea, dinner, change...) and down for the night at 6.30/7pm, ie sleeps 12-13 hours at night

Sounds like Ella's doing roughly the same just with less food (as would be expected... Briona eats more than my 3yo!) so I wouldn't be worried at all.
