3 children vs 2 children

I would love the opinion of all you lovely ladies with 3 children or more. Im trying to decide if we should stop at 2 children as we have always planned or go for a third a little down the track. I know i dont have to decide now but its been playing on my mind a bit and everyone always asks if we are going to have any more kids. I just cant get out of my head that I havent finished having children and everyone reckons I will have another which is so odd to me cos Ive only ever wanted 2, not sure why Im having second thoughts now. So my question is.... is it really much harder having 3 than it is having 2? Obviously its going to be a bit more expensive but Im trying not to think of it in that way, more can I handle having 3 and what are the pros and cons. Any thoughts?

We have three kids and I can't say it was any harder moving from three to two. I was exactly like you and never quite felt after two that I was done. Now with the three my family feels complete. Although we have quite good age gaps between our children so arm wise it was much easier as there was less competing for time. I always say the hardest is your first and then it gets easier from there.

I cant tell how many lines i have, one hand has heaps and the other has about 3 I think.

Whats your age gap Vick? Im thinking IF we have another i would try getting pregnant in a year so Kobe will just about be at school when baby arrives and Addison would be two going on three.

no more flipping a coin for me busymum! lol... my age gaps are between 1 and 2 is 17 months, 2 and 3 there is 2 years 4 months i like both age gaps for different reasons... i would have to say though that if i was to have another i would want it to be closer to the 17 month gap than the 2.4 year gap.

I found a small age gap between my kids has helped them adjust really easily. But in saying that, it means I have two in nappies at a time.... but then you just change the toddler straight after the baby and it's all done in one!

Thats interesting most of you think that going from 2 to 3 is easier than 1 to 2. I have found going from 1 to 2 reasonably easy, that could be that both children are fairly laid back and Kobe has adjusted well plus he was toilet trained about 3 months after Addison arrived so we only have to buy one lot of nappies still. I worry that with having two great children I might be jinxing myself if i go for a third. Might end up with a sick grumpy baby and become completely stressed out. If we do go for a third I still think i would wait a couple of years so that Kobe would be at school. Thanks heaps of the input everyone, its fantastic being able to hear from people who have actually experienced what its like.

Well I'm still pretty new to 3, but I just thought I'd update you to say that the change this time has worked so much easier this time. I put it down to a settled baby (#2 had silent reflux), 3yo who knew what was happening in advance this time, 1yo who is already used to sharing me, and the older two play together. I think the hardest part is trying to co-ordinate 3 sleeps so that I can have a break too, but I'm only needing a rest about every second day now - and that's with a 2wo!
