Just a small vent, honest...

Guess who has discovered how to a) undo her safety sleep and b) turn around inside it? ARGH. Have electric fan going full blast and both windows open in her room, but she's been grumping on and off since just after 4pm. Tonight is going to be interesting.

Hehe yup very clever indeed...(Thanks Roksana!!) but I do feel a bit embarassed now because with all of her crying and fussing, I didn't think to check her nappy Hubby did though, and it was the stinky one to end ALL stinky ones

AND She's finally asleep... so will wait til a bit after six and dinner will just have to be a bit later than usual... here's hoping she sleeps well after her proper "bedtime".

Don't know what we'll do with the safety sleep though... just keep trying to use it for a while, or give up now? And I need to find a thinner sleeping bag !

I think the time *may* have come just to let her be a tummy sleeper... but am going to give it a few days first, as with last time, it could just be due to current circumstances (ie: bloody hot weather!).

Oh and i meant to ask when is it okish to stop using the safety sleep? I dont mind using it but sometimes its to hot for it and i wonder...

We've never used one and oh boy, have I been wishing we had started, cos just this week, Miss Amelia has discovered that she can leverage herself off the bars of her cot and turn herself right around AND over ... then she starts crying cos she gets her legs stuck in between the rails and is stuck on her tummy!

hehe luna thats what addison does. Ive just always hated the thought of pinning them down. I know they are ok but i have anxiety issues and that would be one of my worst nightmares being pinned like that so havent been able to bring myself to use one.

We pinned paris's too, cos it kept her in bed.. i mean once she finally learnt to roll etc, she used to fall out.. although.. she learnt very quickly how to get out anyway.. sit up and crawl out!..

here's a pic of when we stayed at my sister's when she was 18mths.. we decided to use it cos she was on a matress and i thought she'd get out all the time. and she did despite having the safety sleep on.



can't beleive her hair was so long looking at it.. compared to her Ayja is practically bald (although still has more hair than some). lol.

We have gone back to using the SS for Joshie, as he was crawling up to the top of his cot in his sleep, and hitting his head on the end. One day he got his leg stuck through the bars (he's got massive kauri trunk thighs. He can roll over to his tum, but is quite happy to stay there, so safer for all concerned with the SS.

Up until about 8 months ago I was pinning Ella into her safeTsleep.
She was also a houdini baby and would undo it to rotate around the cot and get herself stuck.
It worked really well for us because she didn't wake herself up and despite her best efforts (like Paris!) she never got out of it or undid the pin. She was quite happy and actually got a bit upset when we told her she didn't need her 'straps' anymore

I was so glad for the cooler weather last night - I haven't slept properly in ages

It hasn't really bothered Caitlin, she's still sleeping through (with her eyes shut this time! LOL) and last night she fell asleep and had her plastic chicken rattle in the death grip Poor Mr Chicken!
