What's going on at work mellybelly?? |
Well the person above me at work has just resigned, leaving me the only 'specialist' support person! It could turn out a couple of ways
1. They promote me - which is what i'm hoping for, although a comment that has been heard from the MD is 'what if she gets pregnant!' this can't and should not prevent me from being promoted and they know that.
2. They don't promote me and hire someone from outside the company, causing me to resign...!
So a little turbelent at work....but am fairly confident (95%) that they'll promote me into that role, I have a fair amount of support around the office for it, and i'm pretty much doing it now anyways...

They aren't allowed to discriminate against you on the basis of possibly pregnancy - it would be foolish of them too as you would be able to slide straight into the role. They're at no disadvantage, other than they would need to replace you if (when!) you leave - which is no different to what they would do now, if they didn't employ you (does that make sense??)
All the best!!!

Well, I'm out. I started a new cycle today. And I'm going to have to chart this baby to make sure I know when ovulation is. Joy! I pop a link to the chart in tomorrow/the next day when I've set it up.

hey nictoddie good luck
So boring the 2ww.
I have a question! Do you think its normal to feel guilty about TTC when you already have a baby? I almost feel like im being mean having another one to ella. I feel so guilty that it sucks!

I think that's probably extremely normal Jess, and something that you will not help yourself worrying about because you love your wee girl.
I felt horrendous when I got our second dog! I felt really guilty about how the dog we already had would feel, and how he would adjust ...and before I got our first dog, I worried over how the cat would feel about the dog! It's perfectly natural to worry about our 'babies' (my fur ones, and your peoper one!).
The thing is that Ella will adjust quickly, and you just involve her in the new baby - it won't take long, especially at her age, to forget what life was like before her sibling was on the scene.

Having a sibling is just the bees knees, I look at my two and they can squabble like crazy the pecking order thing and all that, but man does miss m love master b to bits, she follows him around and they are really good buddies most of the time, well still waiting .....

I felt like that when I found out I was pregnant again -but then I see how happy Zac is with his half brother and half sister. He cried the other day when they went home to their mothers which then made me feel even guiltier taking him back to Saudi!

Hey Ladies,
I'm trying to ignore everything this month, but failing miserably. This waiting is killing me! I am 9 DPO now, but I'm not actually charting so that could actually be plus or minus a day or two. Luckily I have a very regular cycle.
I don't feel at all pregnant, so I am trying not to get my hopes up. I didn't feel pregnant last time either (up go those hopes!!) but that one ended in miscarriage (down, hopes, down!!), so I really do feel in turmoil. Silly what we do to ourselves!
Nice to see I am not abnormal though.
I had a bit of an embarrassing question that I wasn't going to ask either, but from what I've seen here the last few days, I thought, heck, why not?? Does anyone ever feel EXTREMELY horny around ovulation? I did this month, which is a bit abnormal for me cos I don't have a massively high libido. But for about two days around Ovulation, I honestly couldn't think of anything else! This is the first time it's been like this since my miscarriage, so it's another thing getting my hopes up all over again.
This is too complicated! And it shouldn't be!

It is a natural thing to get horney Laurie, and it is more common in women that have been pregnant before, kind of like an animal instinct so basically your body is doing what it should!
And welcome to Oh Baby (are you the same Laurie from NZWP a few years back?)

Yeah, I thought that might be the case. It just doesn't usually happen, so I was wondering if my body has just been getting back to normal after the MC. I hope so!
Yep, same Laurie from NZWP. It's our 3rd anniversary tomorrow, which is cool. Have kind of missed message boards since then!! :o)

congrats on the 3rd anniversary Laurie!
Your body can take quite awhile to settle back down to "normal" after a miscarriage, sounds to me like it has, and i wish you (and all the others in their 2WW) the best of luck for this month

hehe Ellen that is so exciting! But it would be nice to get a BFP when he's there.
Laurie the horniness is normal Something to do with the hormones, and procreation instinct that SarahBeth referred to. How long ago was your m/c and at what gestation, if you don't mind me asking?
Kazzle you did a typo and when I first read what you wrote, I thought it said "lots of bding for the four of us" uh-ohhhhh
