Topic: * Is it too hard to smile? * Posted: 12 February 2007 at 10:06am |
When out walking, or in a mall, I see people with babies, toddlers etc.. and I smile at them or often say hello, and get looks from them "if looks could kill". Is it that hard to smile?? We are all in the same boat, or have been there, or are going through it! Maybe they look at me and think, what is she smiling about?! Well, I have a happy, healthy, charming little girl that gives me so much happiness and a adorable husband!
Have a good one!

People are weird huh?
I always say hello if I catch someone's eye when we're out walking, it seems rude not to when we both know we were looking.

i woudl too! I do the same thing, Or try to get a litle chit chat from another mum at pre school but it seems to be the most impossible thing for some people to do! I always thought maybe im just too forward. Or they think im too young but either way its annoying, its not that hard to perk up your cheeks a little!

Abby is very sociable and quite often waves and blows kisses at people. What I hate is when people looks straight at her and ignore her, she's two for gods sake give her a break and at least smile at her!!!
I love the AMI ad about a smile coming back to you and I always smile at people when out. A little bit of friendliness goes a long way.

I smile at people all the time...as some days I see people looking at Zaara and smiling!
Other days if I see a cute bubba I smile at the bubba and then at the parents....most times I get a smile back, but yah there are others who wont bother!

Our living room opens onto an upstairs balcony and our girls often stand out there and watch and sometimes wave as cars drive past... I'm glad for lots of retired neighbours, they seem to be the friendliest sort for waving at preschoolers!

I smile at people, its funny cos when we were living out of town a bit everyone was really friendly, even the young and teenagers would say hi but then move back into town and its a bit different. Still at least if i smile i dont have to feel guilty for snobbing anyone

I smile at people. I say hello to old people too - I would hate to not say hello and be their one chance of someone acknowledging their existence that day gone.

Yup, ever since my grandparents died I often go out of my way to smile / say hello / help with the groceries for old folks...

It seems kinda rude not to smile at someone when they catch your eye! Except for this crazy guy in Palmy... there's a reason he'll always catch your eye and it's because he's probably been stalking you down the street, then he tries to stop you in conversation but at some point during it, he'll snap and go a bit unpredictably nutso at you... and he only does it to young women, funnily enough. Hmmmm... I learned my lesson about smiling at absolutely everyone!
