Topic: Which bottles? Posted: 12 February 2007 at 3:53pm |
Hello
Looking at getting bottles for expressing etc, and was wondering what people have found is good. There are the avent which I know a few people use, but then there are those new tommee tippee ones which claim to be amazing.
What have you guys found?
Thanks!

I have the old style tommee tippee ones just have to get new teats for them. I found them fine with Andrew and we used them from 3 weeks to almost 2 years. I just have to replace a few teats along the way.

I use pur self steriling. A couple of friends who are expressing have them too because they dont have to worry about getting the whole sterilising system etc.... when they are only using one bottle a day. Plus if you get caught out at the mall they are great, all you need is a microwave to sterilise them.

I use avent because I have an avent breast pump and the bottles all fit onto that. No trouble combining breast and bottle with them - but I think that's just luck of the draw with my baby rather than all thanks to avent. A Plunket nurse told me that the new Tommee Tippee ones are apparently really good if you want to combine breast and bottle. I use just the one bottle a day and never bothered with a steriliser - easy enough just to boil everything for a few mins on the stovetop.

I used the bottles from The Warehouse,(they come in a storage/carry case thing) didn't have any problems with them and from memory there was 6. I do recall having to change the teats for my daughter.

We started out with the Avent bottles, but then found Erin took to the new Tommee Tippee ones a lot better - from the Closer to Nature range.

We use the tommee tippee closer to nature....they are also closer to the breast shape so if you will be doing breast and bottle you may find these the better option to avoid possible nipple confusion.

We use Avent coz they were the only ones that Maya would take and I had the breast pump and microwave steriliser. Pretty sure that with the way the gremlins switched between breast and bottle when they were smaller that they would have taken anything as long as it had milk coming out of it!
