Just as a way to get my mind off the waiting, I thought I might try and think of a different way to let DH know when we get the BFP.

Did anyone do something different? Or can you think of any fun ways to let your DH know?

Since my first one was unplanned and I was young, it was a bit of a scary time, but this time, it will be planned and very exciting so I thought a fun way to let him know would be cool!

Any ideas?

A friend of mine wrapped up the positive pregnancy test and gave it to him.

mine was unimaginative...i ran downstairs and went OMG there is a line, is there a line...there is a line eh???

Id go with a wrapping idea or maybe find a card (or make one) that says congrats or i will see you soon etc??? or I love you....Daddy???

I did get DH a photo frame for fathers day last year that said "I Love my Daddy" and put sticker on it TBC ready for him....maybe something like that???

I was shocking! DH was still asleep so I woke him up by hitting on the head with the test! He was like "ew, that's got your wees on it!" Can laugh about it now!

Put on a nice dinner at home with sparkling grapejuice and wait for him to ask why

btw... I didn't do that. I'm far, far too impatient so DH knew I suspected even before I tested!

I walked out of the loo and handed it to him... Kept asking him if there was a definite second line!

mine was all very boring as well, I tested at home alone one night and saw what I thought was a second line, rung hubby to ask when he would be home and he demanded to know why so I told him. I tested early so waited till I was due to go to doctor and get it confirmed, and once confirmed again I was boring, just called him up to say yes we are.

Both of mine suck a bit!
First time it wasn't planned so he was nervously waiting outside the loo and he knew when I came out and burst into tears.
Second time was planned but I tested while he was at work and I told him on msn, lol!

Lol, my wee tests were negative, so I had a blood test done and texted DH when I rang the doctor to have it confirmed.

A friend told her mum in a cool way - they iced a plate with the words along the lines of you are going to be a nana or something like that.

Or you could get a t shirt off funky bumps and see how long it takes him to click that it says 'hapu' or one of the others.

I did think maybe I would send him a card or something like that, but make sure I am there when he opens it . Maybe cook a meal with all baby food as in baby carots, baby potatoes, baby tomatoes!
I will keep thinking...

The photoframe idea is a thought to!

The first one he was with me as we got it done for free somewhere (so can't remember). The second time after me looking at the calendar and trying to work out dates he started to think. My luck would be I brought a bottle of wine at the shopping and then after working out I was very late I went into town and got a test. After I stuffed up the first (left it too long) and then did the second and it was a BFP I rang him at work. We did the grapejuice thing with his parents they were very happy. With my parents we were at a big family party and so we told them straight away just as my mum was getting me a glass of wine.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Hehehe lots of neat ideas. I got tested at the GPs when I was there for something completly different, so DH wasnt waiting for news when I got home. I did go straight from the GPs to the lab to get blood tests, so rang DH to tell him I was running late, but didnt tell him why. When I got home, I was very cool and calm about it all, just casually asking "what are you doing next Weds afternoon?" - he gave me a long winded answer about the things he had on, and appointments that he had etc and when he was finished and asked "why"....I replied by saying " Well, if you arent busy I wondered if you would like to come to my first antenatal appointment?"...he was floored!

First time, I thought I had diabetes, not that I was pregnant, and he came home from work at lunchtime to find me in bed (I had bleeding)and he just said, your pregnant, aren't you, and I burst into tears. Second time, I knew I was before I even skipped a period. I tested the day I was due and got a faint BFP, tested againt he next day, drove doewn to his work and told him, but he wouldn't beleive me until I had been to Dr or midwife to confirm... Guess he beleives me now..

I first "read" that you were going to heat up actual baby food (ie baby food jars) for dinner.. that would be kinda funny but be aware that a lot of them taste disgusting! so just stick with the desserts (apple, fruit salad).... but now that I've read your post properly.... lol
