Topic: Just what I dreaded... Posted: 08 March 2007 at 11:08am |
It's starting to feel like "it never rains" here... 2 weeks ago the girls (2 oldest) got a cold, I got a little bit of it, and then that triggered my vertigo (dizzy spells for a week). That set me vomitting all through one night, in between trying to breastfeed, off to the doctors the next day, and I can finally now hang washing (head-tilting) and drive the van!
And then... Hannah and DH both get a vomitting bug on Monday night. It was the same day Krystiana had her 6wk imms and then slept through the night (so I missed out! ). The following night DH and Hannah did actually sleep not chuck, and Krystiana woke for feeding about 4 times (she hasn't done that in weeks). Last night Krystiana slept through again, well from 10pm to 5am at least, but... I had the chucking thing all night instead!
So now Hannah's okay, Briona and Krystiana are fine, DH is still feeling really weak, and I'm feeling awful. The chucking has all finished but I'm exhausted from the whole ordeal. Also DH works on-call so no sick leave for him
And I *still* can't get my washing done!
<sigh> when this ends there better not be another bug in this home!!!!

Oh, busymum! You poor thing!! Isn't it hideous how in families bugs do the rounds, and then they start over again with something different? Bleh!
I can't remember the name of hte bug, but is your vertigo triggered by the 'ear thing'?
Grrr ...I can't think what the heck it's called! My FIL has it.

the ear thing IS the vertigo thing Ginger... Benign Positional Vertigo. It was possibly set off by having a cold, but even more so by being exhausted. Frustrating!
I've spent most of the day sleeping, I keep getting up to eat (at least I can hold stuff down) and then within an hour am tired again The older girls have been very good today (as with DH lol) and Krystiana is really settled, so that's really helping me recover. I'm optimistic that I'll be okay tomorrow.
I've finally got the washing washed and now to chuck it in the dryer - I don't care!!! lol
Oh and my mum would have come around to help today cause she's visiting just around the corner, but when she heard it was contagious, not just vertigo, all plans were cancelled! It's fair enough, cause she has kids at home too (older than mine but still dependent), but I was a bit disappointed - I think cause I've been sick for so long, it's not just a day. I was starting to feel a bit better yesterday but then this thing came along.
Thanks for letting me ramble! Not much anyone can do really, but we better be ok by the weekend or I'm sure gonna have cabin fever!

Am feeling heaps better today. Slight headache and a bit tired, but I've done the dishwasher already (is that really the first time in 10 days????) and I'm not feeling so "sorry for myself" lol
Sometimes you can do anything if you know you have support... but yea, am feeling heaps better today.
