It all depends on your ovulation and if you are ovulating. Granted you can still get your period when your not ovulating i would suggest charting so you know what is happening before going down the drug road.

My cycles are VERY wacky aswell and unfortunately its just something we have to put up with

It really depends on what other factors are in play kiwigal. Are you ovulating? Have you temped to try and chart your cycles, and see what is what? Have you had any blood tests to check hormone levels etc? Presumably you're not taking the pill - how long since you stopped taking it?

Apparently accupuncture is good - you could try that...?

Hey ladies, Am not TTC conceive, so can't imagine how annoying it would be when you have funny cycles trying to conceive. like throwing a dart at a moving target. But i share the annoyance. Before paris, was regular, all the time, horrible once i got it back after her with pain and heaviness, but still regular. got Af back i think when Ayja was 4 months old and had been kinda regular i think up till mid this year, but argh, am now going nuts, last few months there is no rhyme or reason, mike said maybe shift work is buggering up my body clock. All i know is i am getting horrible pain, usually by the time i get it i actually seriously look like i am the same size i was at about 20 weeks along,am wishing for AF to get here and getting hot flushes and nausea..   Cycles since november have been crazy, 24 days, 39 days, 27 days and now on day 35 of this one and getting rather angry. they get one week a month, after AF has finished, where mum is a nice person to be around. it sucks. sorry for the rant (also sorry if this is the wrong place for it.)

Ginger to your question no I am not charting or anything just writing down when I get my period and the last couple of times it has been between 32-35 since having my son 4 years ago I have never missed a period.I am not on the pill and only take it unless I have to.

My might have to go and see our GP and see what he thinks I am now on CD 43

Hmmm ...might be an idea to see your doc. When you say that you take the pill when you have to - do you mean when you need to avoid being pregnant, or rather due a particular month? You didn't take it a couple of months ago or something and it's put things out of whack?

Since you're actively TTC - definitely chart if your cycles are off, so that you can tell when you are ovulating. How long have you been TTC?

That's weird that after 4 years of regular cycles, you'd be up the shoot ...you're not really stressed, or doing a crash diet or something? And presumably you've tested to make sure you're not pregnant?

No wonder you're getting annoyed!

mum2paris - that doesn't sound pleasant at all! You poor thing!

Yer i would be testing to make sure and contacting your dr. I have been known to have cycles in the 40s and thats purely because i ovulated really really late...

Hehe. Love it!

The cycles is a bugger though ...I remember when I was on the combination pill it controlled my cycles really well, but if you want to TTC, that's a big ol' set back!!

I hope it all works out for you - messy cycles is really frustrating.

Ginger it is fantastic not having to worry if I have remembered taking the pill that day or if the condom breaks.

I am going to go in and see my dr either tomorrow or on Friday and get a blood test done then I know for sure what is going on with my hormones.

I saw our GP this morning and he wasn't too concerned about it and thought it wasn't necessary to get a blood test done.I went into the pharmacy and spoke with them they think I should try tablets 30 plus that assist and support normal hormonal balance.

You wouldn't believe it but I started bleeding in the afternoon, I am not too sure if it is a breakthrough bleeding as it is a lot lighter and my periods have always been heavier.
