Hi well as you have all seen on the news northland has been awash. Acutally the garage at the end of our road on SH1 was on the news last night totally under water. There was no dry land around our house and we we all dreading high tide, which didnt amount to anything much.
SH1 was closed so one of my neighbours and her kids stayed at my mums house in town the night.
BUT YAY the rain has stopped, Just in time hopefully the road will be open as im off to pick up my eternity ring from the jewellers today.

Holly, glad you ok and dont have any damage to your property.
We had major flood in my region back in '04 and the road to work was closed and so was the glowworm cave and carpark etc. Had a few days off because of it, then 9mnths later my son was born. Must of beeen something in the water LOL

Wow what a relief for you! In the Feb 04 floods we were getting worried about our place - we were across the road from a stream soon to burst it's banks and our street was flooded. But it didn't touch our property, so I can't imagine how freaky it would have been for you!

Duh! I didn't even click that you guys might be affected! Glad to hear the rain has finally stopped. I think my grandparents are OK, they're up the top of the hill so hopefully ok.
What did the girls think of the excitement?

lol yes my ring is VERY cool and will take and post a pic soon. It absolutely completes the setting and has the stones in it for my girls month of birth (lucky one is diamond) and our wedding month too.
Yep the girls thought the flooding was so cool and exciting. very weird yesterday to wake up and the sea was just like glass not even a ripple. It was such a hot sunny day compared to the day before.
