Topic: Hcg levels?? Posted: 03 April 2007 at 8:15pm |
ok so i never found out with my girls about levels etc.. i just knew apparently they were about right.
So, today i got my results back. everything is ok, apart from the fact that... my Hcg level is 43,078.5.
At 6 wks, the level is usually 15,000 approx. around 8 weeks it is 45,000.
At the time I had my bloods done i would have been - going by my LMP dates, about 6 wks and 2 days thereabouts. so it should have been around the 15,000 mark, not 43,000ish
the doctor said tonight that more than likely i am just further ahead than i thought, ie i was about nearly 8 weeks when i had the bloods done, not 6.. How can that be, I know when my last period started - it was valentines day.. (that sucked!) but anyway. I do not think i can be that far along - that would make me about 9 weeks now instead of 7 weeks.
Has anyone else had higher levels. I am pretty sure of my dates but the Hcg levels at that point would have been double or more what it should have. My cycles had been a bit back and forth for a couple of months before-hand, but i know that my last period was normal - not implantation or anything like that. It was a completely normal 8 day period.
I hear you all now saying TWINS. and still i did not get referred for an early scan. Definately will be talking to my midwife and seeing what she thinks. either way, even if i have to pay for it myself. I might go get one done. It's bugging me now.

lets not jump the gun now... am just saying am sure i am not that far ahead..we'll just wait and see i guess in good time. high is good, will have to really go back and think but i know my dates are right, i write them down, i know some things say they are still not a reliable source and scans are better - so will have a talk to MW.

LMFAO - you were warned! Didn't I say I kept thinking of you and twins in the same sentence!
Seriously tho, the way hCG levels vary, and the way they double, means that your dates might only be a few days out.
My levels were 48,000 at about 7 weeks (I think, am trying to remember coz I know at 5 weeks they were 5500, two days later they were 11000, and the next test I had done which was abot 8-10 days later was 48,000). But twins don't always mean higher than normal levels.
Get that scan!

LOL see, I was thinking Hudson would be a good boy's name, 'cause then they'd have names from a city, a continent (sp?) and a river!

actually at the mo, boys names either Leo, Saige, or i like Carlos, but mike, even though he likes tha name (because of a certain rally driver) says that it would have to be a little greek kid to be named that.

Just thinking that maybe your last period was actually implantation bleeding? That'd put you ahead a couple of weeks...?
