Yup, normal. Especially as its your first. I remember with my daughter, I couldn't stop rubbing my belly even though no one except me could feel the 'bump' because it was so weird and cool feeling the little hard grapefruit there!

yep down low, your tummy gets this curvy rounded feel and it's hard. that will slowly move up higher and higher. feels neat. mines quite noticable - mike even said about it the other day and never usually notices.

Funny how as soon as I knew I was pregnant, my stomach became the focus of so much more attention. I find myself with my hands rubbing my tummy, or just touching... Like I am trying to keep baby safe and warm in there... Have noticed that low down is getting rounder and harder - can't wait until I can feel the little peanut moving!! how exciting!

My tummy definately feels harder and is poking out more than normal and my clothes are a little tight around my waist! I seem to be unconsiously rubbing my stomach especially if I get pains or feel nauseous (sp?).
When we went to a wedding the other weekend, for some reason all our friends wanted to touch my tummy (not that there is anything really to feel yet!), they would also come up and talk to the baby, and then talk to me !
I don't mind them touching me as we are not at all private people and we are very close with our friends anyway, I guess people are interested as we are one of the first couples to be having a baby!

im not sure how i will be with people touching my stomach. I will probably get annoyed if a complete stranger comes up and just starts touching my stomach.

yeah I had DH cousin come up and pat my stomach in weekend - was not that comfortable with it. Think I am going to have to learn to tell people not to do it or get over it - cos it has happened a few times already. Not like there is even anything there to feel!!

I must admit I felt it was a bit of an invasion of my personal space at first, but as I say we are not at all the private types and I have to admit its more so the guys that want to touch, I think they are intrigued by it all! Everytime we see our friends they ask when I am going to start showing, they can't wait! Not for a little while yet, the baby is only teeny tiny!
Thinking about it I kind of also get "warm fuzzies" knowing that our friends want to be such a big part of our babies journey and that they can give my belly a pat and feel so comfortable with it, I guess its their way of showing how much they really care for us!
Our friends have even set up a "sweepstake" for our baby, its $5 entry and each person guesses the birth date, weight, birth time and sex, but all the money goes to the baby to open their first bank account - too cute I must say!
Sorry I am thread-jacking

I make people touch my tummy - lol! Some people sort of give it a pat, and I say - no! Give it a good poke, feel how hard it is!! I always thought I would hate it, but I am more than happy for everyone to have a feel (unless they are creepy men or something!)

I found when I was pregnant that you kinda become public property, people feel they can rub your tummy whenever they want or comment on you and your size, it did kind of annoy me a little bit (mostly the comments though).
And funny thing about rubbing your belly, was thinking about that the other night, right from the time I knew I was pregnant I would rub my belly, and as soon as Elle was born I didn't anymore, I think its the start of bonding with your bubs and the protective feeling over it.

It is nice having a tum tum with bubs....
I once had a random lady come up and rub my tummy, like she was the one that had got me pregnant... I was most put out, so I tweaked her nipple and told her to respect my space!!!!

Lots of things happen in there lol. The stomach gets squished into some random corner and the hard feeling sometimes just feels like bloatedness, makes me rub it too (when I'm pg ).

ha ha was just reading babyonboard's post.. lol
I did my nursing training while preg both times and was always the "model" so to speak.. the first time it was just basic nursing assessment.. so they actually got to include the option of pregnancy in there, and the second time it was maternal health paper.. i got to hear baby's heartbeat alot and learnt to tell which part was which. it was great.
