Hi, I am considering getting an avent breastpump and was wondering if there are any others out there that might be worthwhile having a look at beforehand. Have any of you tried something different, and it is hard using a manual hand pump compaired to an electric one?

Thanks!

I used the Avent breast pump and found it easy to use, I hear people swear by the electric ones but I think the manual ones are all you really need, I could empty a breast with the Avent one in about 5 minutes and it was totally comfortable and I didn't feel too much like a milking machine!!

I have the avent one and found that it was great. When I was researching them when I was buying it I think the main complant people had with it was that it could be quite hard to get suction, but once that was sorted then alls good with it. I have to admit, I did struggle getting suction sometimes.
Re the electric ones, I have used two different brands once each (sorry can't remember what brand they were) and yes they were very easy and quick, but the noise of them drove me crazy...its not that they are really loud but just got on my wick.
