Topic: When to stop deluding myself? Posted: 30 April 2007 at 2:40pm |
I am having a clean out of my mini-house. I have soooo many clothes from before I was pregnant (the first time). I have been hoarding them away for years now thinking that one day I will fit them again.
Am I dreaming to even think I might one day fit an 8 again? When is it time to firmly plant my feet on the ground in the real world and get rid of these clothes?

Haha, I know how you feel... I ditched my size 10 clothes when I was pregnant and nesting as I hadn't worn them for years. It's just a distant memory for me now

Should prob add that if I spent as much time walking as I do on OB then I might have a hope of fitting these but a girl has gotta have her priorities right?

he he he. I know where you are coming from. I would chuck em or sell em and then buy some really nice ones you fit that you really enjoy wearing. chances are if you could fit the others again you would find they are out of fashion slightly anyway.
who wants to be size 8 anyway???

What size were you before finding out Kaia was on the way? That might be a good indication as to what size you probably will be.
I'm doing something similar... I also have size 8 stuff, which I am going to get rid of as I think I will not fit them again. I was an 8 before having Josiah, but only just and that was when Kiya was 3.5yo!
OT, but how do you pronounce your daughter's name? Is it the same as my girl: Kii-yah?

Hmmm, before Kaia my logic was I am not gonna bother trying to lose weight (after Quinn) as I was hoping to do it all again ASAP, I never really went smaller than a 12.
You know how people look in the mirror and see someone bigger than they really are? I am the opposite of this, I am always convinced i am really smaller than I look?!
Becca - I have always wondered if you pronouce you little girls name the same as ours? do you say kiya like key-a? Kaia is said k-eye-ah. Different?

I think I'll just take the mature approach and shove them all back under the bed!

Yeah, I'm the same Kellz... I'm about the weight I was when Xavier was conceived, but a clothes size larger? And not just because of my huge (for me) boobs!

get rid of them all, so even when you do get back to that size you'll have all new clothes....and if you sell the good ones you'll have extra money.

Yeah thats a good idea Deb! I should bite the bullet and get rid of mine!
Yeah Becca, Im 1 to 2 sizes bigger than I was when I got preg. I lost weight in the year before I got preg,..and went down 2 bra sizes,.so now even tho my boob are bigger than pre- preg they are still actually smaller than they usually were, before I lost weight ( but way different shape too,..tmi!).

Ah Becca, such excellent tastes in names huh!!
And I am just slightly jealous, cause Iused to have boobs but since i finished feeding Kaia they have whittled away to next to nothing!
I kinda like the idea of selling them and one day fitting back in to new little clothes, maybe I should just quit whinging and do it? Sure wold free up a whole lot of space, but then my teeny wardrobe (by teeny I mean minimal) would look pitiful!

i have a pair of jeans that i can do up that i last wore when i was about 3 months preggers.
i am only a few kgs heavier then what i was pre baby but my hips got alot bigger so i dont think i will ever be anything smaller then a 12.
i thru out all the pre preg clothes except the one pair of jeans not long after i had tash. and thats only cos i couldnt be bothered moving with all the extra clothes....

i had a box of clothes labelled 'after jack' clothes. these were the things i got too fat for just before i got preggy (like only 3-5kg too much) and had all intentions of wearing again after i had jack.........ya right!! i had an extra 10kgs to loose instead
after i had charli i was back to my pre-jack weight so i got the box back out and while they fitted ok, i looked 'too old' to wear them if you know what i mean....
get rid of them and get yourself something nice that you can wear now. that's what i'm going to do with mine, as soon as i can be bothered putting them on TM....too much kids stuff on there at the mo.
oh how i ramble

he he he. I have a mirror that does that. It makes me look taller and slimmer. Who's to say that is not a true reflection and ALL other mirrors are wrong. If I start my day looking at that one I feel great....until I catch a glimpse in a shop window...CRASH..back down to earth

I kept ONE pair of trousers that I used to live in in my pre-baby days as a measure of how much weight I'm going to loose.... one day
But I agree with Deb, ditch what was "normal clothes" and buy yourself something nice to wear now
P.S
I thnk I WAS 8 when I was a size 8

I used to be a size 10 but lost heaps of weight (too much) after Hannah and went down to 8. I've only just passed those clothes on. ATM I'm a 14 and I'd just love to be a 12 again! Especially when I eye up all those clothes. Doesn't help when you bf and need less fitting tops as well
