Topic: Bad day Posted: 03 June 2007 at 1:54pm |
Friday afternoon Hannah and I headed down to the Warehouse to get the last bits for our vege garden. I was carrying her from the car and just as we were near the door she spewed all over me and herself (like ) It was so gross and totally covered us! Anyone we headed back to the car, I put my wallet on the roof of the car as I took my tops off (lucky I had a singlet on) and stripped Hannah off. Put her in her carseat and headed home. Almost home and realised I had left my wallet on the roof and it wasnt there anymore! So drove back around, came home got the pram and walked around where I would have dropped it. Couldnt find it anywhere so am guessing a schoolkid picked it up - was driving home just after 3pm.
Its so frustrating losing your walet, especially when you do something as dozy as leaving it on the roof of the car. Oh and being puked all over was not pleasant either, nor was washing our clothes

oh no ...
I hope the little girl is okay now? Oh and yuck ...
I also hope that it WAS just a schoolkid who picked up your wallet, there's a chance that they may hand it in to either the warehouse or the nearest police station.
That said, I'm inclined to believe the worst of people, and would be starting to ring round and cancel my credit cards and if it had your drivers licence in it as well, then look into this too. Anything that substantiates your identify you should notify the appropriate issuer that it has gone.
When young and foolish, my wallet along with my restricted drivers license was stolen and i stupidly didn't report the loss of my licence ... three months later i had the police on my doorstep notifying me that someone else was using it for id. Not a good moment in my life.

Yeah I've cancelled my bank cards and was kinda hoping it was handed in somewhere so am waiting til Tuesday before I sort out the rest. I asked at the Warehouse but it wasnt there, and all the other shops (about 8) along the way, know me or DH, so would be able to get hold of me - small town!! ANd Hannah was absolutely fine before and after - was a freak event! Oh and am loving the new emoticons!

That really does suck .... I went to pack and save one night ages ago and either left my wallet or someone took it while I was packing my shopping, in the trolley kid bit as did not have kids with me, was totally gutted as had over $100 in cash well realised when went to mums to pick up Braedon so went back with my dad and asked if it had been handed in etc nope, so went to the cop shop to report it then as we were driving back to dad and mums got a call from dh on cell phone to say that pack and save rang to say they have my wallet got there and yup all money was gone even the coins arrgghhh was gutted thankfully all the cards were there so reckon it was kids!!

Ugh Aimee - I feel your pain, losing/having your wallet stolen is a giant PITA! I'll have my fingers crossed for you tho - when Maya was tiny I lost my wallet in a mall and the mall management said it hadn't been handed in. Three weeks later I got a call from the cafe we'd had lunch at (who we had already asked if it was there and been told no) saying they had found it under the counter. One of the temp staff had put it there in case I came back for it, but didn't tell anyone that's what she'd done.
Glad to hear the powerchuck was a one off - these are the things they don't put on the job description sheet when you sign up to be a mum!

Yay, some lovely person took it into the police station! Not a thing missing, still even had the few coins in it and all cards So relieved I dont have to get new cards for everything - had already cancelled bank cards but better safe than sorry. And bonus, its hard to spend money with no eftpos cards!
