Connor had his immunology appt at Starship today.
Our entire house is hit with the lurgy (in desperate need of brass bands...double points to anyone who gets that reference) so we didn't really feel like trudging across the bridge with the andrew-spongebob toddlepants and connor-darth-doodles-dunlop (we often sense disturbances in his force...or at least nappies)...BUT, since it would take another three or four months to get a rescheduled appt, off we went. The lurgy ridden husband, with man-flu, rendering him incapable of anything other than complaining; the two year old snot factory; the squirmy anti-milk factory and me - still high from the codral day and night pills I took yesterday to try and get through the day. After a brief wait, made all the more pleasant by the Harry Potter movie playing in the waiting area we got to see the registrar (key to the specialist - she takes all the information, walks next door to where the specialist is hiding away from the sick people and then comes back with the specialist's words of wisdom). So, the words of wisdom...Connor has a milk protein intolerance and should stay away from anything with milk protein until he doesn't have an intolerance any more which may or may not happen because some people get over it, others end up on rice milk for life. And with that news, we were told that she'd see us again in 12 months to see how he's doing. I feel like we've gone back in time two months to before she told us he didn't have a milk protein intolerance (so we gave him milk which resulted in pooing blood). She seems to think the egg yolk was just a coincidence, but don't try it or fish again until he's at least one.
Then we called into Glenfield on the way home, caught up with a certain PAWS who was eating deep fried something or other in cheese. She convinced me to drink something that was at least 90% cream, 10% coffee and an additional 20% chocolate (I'm great at math). Without Paws, I'm sure that I wouldn't have had it...heh. In any case, that's our run down of the Starship visit for this month. Hopefully no more for a while - my stress levels can do without it.

I had nothing to do with your iced Mocha and I believe you will find that it was YOU eating the Deep Fried Squid rings. I was merely munching nachos.

Glad you had Gen there to provide you with some form of chocolatey relief.

Otherwise, rats. Hope he grows out of it... probability is quite good right?

Ugh Maree, sorry it wasn't more 'useful' for you, on the plus side 95% of kids with milk allergy/protein intolerance do outgrow it eventually, and Maya is living proof.

Hope the man flu clears out soon!
