well you probably don't care too much but I had such a great day.

Today I went to my niece and nephews school production, and I had tears in my eyes and goose bumps for most of it. It was a journey through pacifica, and was amazing....yeah yeah yeah, your'e probably thinking but the thing is, they go to a decile one school in south auckland, and are among a very noticable minority of white children in the school, this production was amazing and shows how a school can really pull together and do something totally amazing that these kids can be super proud of. All the costumes were hand made by the children and their families, they sung amazing and every child in the school was involved.

All my other nieces and nephews live on the shore, and there productions are high budget, and not too much thought. But today just brought me back down to earth, and made me look and childrens experiences in a very different way.

THE END

Sounds like it was great production. i read the other day in an article that it doesn't matter what decile school you have it's the heart of the teachers working there. I hope they are all very proud of themselves.

Thats awesome Natalie! I agree with Nuttymama, it's not about the amount of $$$ a school has, it's the people who are in it that make the difference.
