I have just read the grocery budget thread and all of you who meal plan have inspired me!!!  I would LOVE to be more organised with this, esp with bubba on the way.  My question is, what do you all eat??  Do you have fave meals frequently or try and mix it up a little?  Would love some feedback on this, thanks!!!

A bit of both really ! We have a slow cooker and a rice cooker, and they rock - so easy to make a stew or soup, chuck everything in and forget about it until dinner time. We have spag bol a lot, as well as easy stuff like vege burgers, chicken kebabs with salad, quiche (you can buy them ready made), and occasionally fish.

Our meals are semi-planned in that I always take the meat out of the freezer the night before to save on that decision. I always alternate steak, mince, chicken, lamb, fish or whatever so we are guaranteed variety.

Then depending on what sort of day I'm having, I'll cook whatever works using that meat...so for example, if it's a mince day and I'm feeling lazy - spag bol it is! If I have more time then could be home made hamburgers or meatballs or something.. Chicken breastmeat could be stirfry for an easy day or a more complicated chicken fetticini if time/energy allows.

We don't tend to eat the same thing for at least 2-3 weeks so it really depends on how many recipies you are capable of/or can be bothered with.

I usually go through recpe books the day or two before grocry day. my new taste magazine arrived today so that is exciting! the new Healthy Food mag has an article about basic foor lists so I am planning on making a basic shopping list - with the essentials and then I can just add to it as we need special ingrediatnts.

I usually suss out fourteen meals that I want to make, as well as some cooked lunches and baking. Filo pastry is fabulous as leftovers, bit of cheese, suddenly we have a flash looking pie.

I love looking through my "food porn" as Lewis calls it, so I enjoy the planning side.

We have pasta about twice a week. (will be more if hubby had his way.)

Then a meat and 3 veggies 3 times a week. Might be a piece of chicken or steak (if I bought it on special) or a chop or sausuge

The other two meals depend if we going out over weekend I might just make snackwhiches or some kind of take away thing at home. We should actually eat fish a lot more.

I love my stews and caseroles in winter and generally make enough to freeze for another meal.
