I know for some fitteds + covers are a cheaper and easier system, but pockets are pretty easy too and you can also adjust the absorbency a lot more easily. With all in ones generally you can't, and they take longer to dry - although again I'm sure they work really well for some but not for others. Personally I stick to pockets 99% of the time, but we have a couple of AIOs, and no fitteds to speak of as yet.

Pockets here too. I have a couple of AIOs and 1 fitted, but wouldn't use either of them exclusively. Pockets are great like Jax said cos you can customise the absorbancy with your inserts, they dry super fast and very easy to use.

I only have pockets (I don't even know what a fitted is ) so can't really compare. I find them great I wash them at night and all are dry over night in front of the fire on the clothes rack.

I prefer pockets, don't need as many as AIOs cause they dry heaps better/faster.

We use pockets most of the time, with a couple of fitteds which are fine but take ages to dry, and some prefolds in covers which are easy as well. But overall, I'd have to say pockets rock!

I've tried using an AIO (borrowed from Emma's stash ) and I wouldn't use them on Caitlin.
They're supposed to be easier to use but they take forever to dry and you can't add to the absorbency (unless you buy extra stuff then they work out the same price as a pocket anyways!).
I think that as long as you have a system in place then pockets are just as easy to use as an AIO.
I take them off the washing line (dry obviously ) then stuff all of them and put an extra insert in a couple for her night nappies, then that's it until next wash day

Pockets are awesome. I have a couple of AIO's for my nappy bag just because they are great in the nappy bag because they take up less room

We generally use pockets but have enough AIO for a day - use them in the nappy bag and when grandparents are babysitting just because they're easier. I really like the one size pockets for overnight nappies as I've found them easier to stuff lots into

How many pockets do you go thru in a day? and how often do you wash them? Do they dry overnight?

How many you go through depends on how old the baby is - newborn 10ish through to older toddlers 3-4.
They all need to be washed after each use, but how often you wash depends on how many you have. I now have enough for around 3 days, but I wash every second day.
Yep, pockets will dry overnight. In summer if you hang them outside they will be dry in an hour or so. The inserts take a bit longer - overnight by the fire, a few hours on the line in summer.

Pockets definitely!
I find fitteds aren't as absorbent and take longer to dry.

i use my fitteds for overnight on my son - i love them in the day during summer without covers and think they are great. you can customise the absorbency and having a cover gives you an extra layer against leaks. I do like my pockets too however, they are trimmer for going out (easier with car seats and pram etc to buckle them in).
AIO's are good but do take longer to dry and i wouldnt use them as my sole system. but yeah babysitters love them cause they are soo easy.
it is hard tho cause not all bubbas suit the same system or style of nappy.

Well after reading all the comments I am very glad I have decided to go with pockets (I've already bought 10). I can't wait for the baby to arrive so I can try them out

I ordered some pocket nappies to sample and see whether i like them enough to sell in my online store www.scamps.co.nz and they arrived today. I am not very impressed I have to wash them all at least 10 times before using , I want to use them now

What did you get? I never wash my nappies before using them. Are the inserts hemp? Thats the only fabric I know of that needs to be washed that many times before it is at full absorbancy. I dont even wash microfibre inserts before using them.

I got 2 swaddlebee one velcro and snap, I got a pea pods and a bum genius. And waiting the Mummy's touch to be sent. I am also getting samples of the Karma Kidz range.
I used the Monkey Doodlez AIO without washing and that leaked right through the front. Probably didn't help that Amelia sleeps on her tummy usually now
