am waiting for a service person to arrive...apparently sometime today between 3 and 7pm!!! nice with a bubba to think of huh....!!!
we came home to find our phones not working properly.,.DH thinks the cables are holding water somewhere....all interference and phones work sometimes and others not at all!!! and then if the phone rings the internet goes out!!! or we just cant get on at times...
it is soooo annoying....we have tried all the phones in all the sockets cause if it was an equip problem we would be charged....but am at point of now just wanting them to come fix it....

well they told us two days ago - wed between 3 and 7pm....ok...so 6 30 comes and the phone kinda rings...nothing there...and then five mins later the guy is at the door...
I told him i wasnt too pleased with lateness of time...so he was really nice and apologised and showed me his palm pilot showing they only allocated him the job tonight at 5 45pm - and he was already home so had to come out. OMG telecom SUCK!!!!!
anyways - it was a corroded cable outside, so he (this is how DH explained it) swapped it for the non corroded one....ummmmm so what does the corroded one now work on i wonder as it is still there???? apparently rain etc is to blame....great huh - 5 year old house and corroded cables outside!
oh well all working now....heres hoping...altho he did leave a card in case something goes wrong within 7 days

We've had our phone cut twice in the past 6 months coz the idiots from Fulton Hogan doing the roadworks on Hillsborough rd cut the cables. The first time they were brilliant and gave me free call diversion and a months line rental free plus a $10 credit on my cell phone, but the second time they were just like "blah, it will take 24-48 hours to fix, sorry but just deal with it" so I was less impressed!

we have had rotten luk with phones up here, 1st house telstra cut all the telecom to the house so we had to pay for technician to come over to fix the problem (saturn even cut the sky cable connecting it to the satelte), move out here and the same thing had happened but took them 6days to get to us, luckily I had my mobile for them to direct calls to (free of harge thank goodness)

ohhh when i was pg they were doing major road works like 5ks down from our house and they kept cutting thru our ph cable. all telecom would do was divert all calls to dfs cell ph. fat lot of good that was cos we lived in a area with no cell ph signal!!!if anything had happened to us int he middle of the night df would of had to have walked 2ks to our boss's/neighbours place to use their ph!! they were so slack at fixing the cables too and to road work people just kpet cutting thru them. about 8 times all up i think. and all up we must of spent close to 8 weeks with out a ph.
