My baby (kitten) has run away from home tonight - our flatmate didn't quite shut the door fully, and she pushed it open and went out. I discovered the door maybe 1/2 an hour after it was opened, so she hadn't long gone, but we can't find her ANYWHERE. Now it's almost been 2 hours, and she is gone.

She is so little, only 6 months old, and was due to get fixed on Thursday. She is in heat NOW so she has wandered off, and if she comes back she might come back all abused . She has never been outside before either...

I feel just awful, I wanted a kitten so badly for AGES and now I've got one, and 2 months later I lose her! I hope she comes home when she's hungry, and no one else decides she's cute and keeps her. I'll be putting out fliers tomorrow morning if she doesn't come home.

Sorry, I know I don't post a lot, but I just had to cry to someone other than DH

OMG Cathrine!! I could've written the exact same post this time last night!

Our new kitten left last night (only his third time outside) and I couldn't find him anywhere!! Today we spent all day wandering around calling him and we made fliers and stuck them in everyones letterbox!

Happy ending tho:
About an hour ago he turned up at the window, a bit hungry and cold but otherwise happy! No idea where he has been for the last 24 hours but he seems ok!

I did read tho that apparently most indoor cats that go missing are found within about three hosues of home and that it is not likely that she has 'run' away, more likely that she is hiding somewhere (check under the house and in any small spaces?).

You'll find her!! Hugs!

my cat went missing for three months! and turned up at the window once night, sauntered in as if to say "what?" - she was knocked up though...kittens are relatively easy to get rid of (and i don't mean that literally, i just mean I gave them all away to lovely homes!)

Thanks guys, Anna, I'm so pleased your kitten came back, here's hoping for mine! Going to try and sleep now, and hopefully she'll get hungry overnight and come home.

Happy ending - Bailey cane home at 6 this morning - I couldn't sleep and had been online since 4.30, and before going to bed thought "I'll just go outside once more to see if she's there". And sure enough, opened the door, walked outside, and heard her. And then she came running... and scoffed down HEAPS of food! Must have been a busy night.

I guess now I'm going to have to let her out more - she's had a taste of it now. Oh well, AFTER she's fixed on Thursday!

Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Glad your fur baby has turned up, is your boy fixed Anna? Its cat mating season at the moment he's probably out doing his stuff.
