Topic: have you noticed? Posted: 02 November 2009 at 6:59pm |
I don't' know how many of you have pets, but I'm wondering if any of you have noticed that since you have been pregnant your pets have been extra clingy, My cat won't leave me alone, it follows me every where and if I sit down she jumps up to sit on my knee, and even when I go visiting friends there cats and dogs are extra freindly and follow me around, where they usually just ignore me..
Do any of you have the same effect on pets?

Our cats were same the same when I was pg with Jack, not so much with Ben. My Bro's dog is quite big ans would always jump up at you but when I was pg he would come up to me but never jumped.

Oh yes!
Friends cat adopted my bump in my first preg, warmer maybe?
But in my first preg, my dog knew from early on & he'd touch my tum with his nose. Second preg & different dog she touched my tum with her nose but much later on in pregnancy.

My dog seemed to know I was pg before I did!!! He was always whining near me then once I tested he stopped. I think he started acting funny again towards the end too.

Animals are known to sense these things, so very possible!
Our dog keeps sniffing my tummy at the moment. I ask him what's in there? He just gives me a pretty blank look

Yep, My cat is forever sitting on my stomach when I lie down on the sofa. Normally she just glares at me until I move and make space for her.

Yep I get this too - in fact my cat is driving me nutty at the moment. I've heard that they can hear the heartbeat? Not sure if thats true, but they certainly can sense something.

Nope, no change here. Our cat is still as much of a toad as he has always been. I had been looking forward to him being a bit more smoochy, not waking us up at 5am, not ankle tapping me etc. Hopefully he will change as I progress a bit further (love him to pieces really, but was a very early wake up call from him this morning)

Yep both our cats are sitting on me a lot more than usually and MIL said her cat would try and sit on her bump with both her pregnancies
It's funny how they sense things...my boy cat is especially clingy if I'm upset or down which is sweet

My little dog is being a big sook lately..............he kinda is anyway but he constantly wants cuddles. DH is getting a bit jealous cause the dog wants to cuddle me all the time. Cats are still the same but one of my cats loves lying on my tummy anyway so I'm sure he'll love it when I have a nice warm bumb to lie on. The only thing I have to be careful of is that sometimes he sticks his arse in my face Not great

My dog is the same, he sleeps with me in bed, curled up by my tum, and always wants me to carry him around or have him on my lap, is getting annoying but its sooo cute!!
