I just went to pick my son up from daycare and just as i walked in i caught the bully (the one i have spoken of before for bullying Bay who is twice Bays size!) push Bay to the ground shove his face in the dirt and then kick him in the head!!!! i was so angry! i yelled across the playground!! but the boy didnt stop so i went up and growled him!! and he told me to go away!!
There were 2 teachers right there who did nothing until i kicked up a huge stink as i was very angry!!
They were telling him off so i just took Bay and left and balled my eyes out when i got to the car as it was soooooooooo horrible to see!! doesnt help being pregnant and teary about everything!!

That's horrible. When Bailey's out of the room I'd give the centre a call this afternoon. If you can't do that, call while he's next there. (I don't think it would help for him to overhear that conversation). Remember to talk it through with Bailey, it's important for him to know it's okay to say stop and it's okay to cry with Mum, and that it wasn't his fault, the other boy was being naughty.

Poor Bailey! I agree with busymum too, it is worth a call because its an ongoing thing and they don't seem to be making much of an effort around putting a stop to this bully.
Good luck Chick, I hope they get rid of the little toad!

Oh I remember having a similar incident with Quinn at daycare when I was pregnant! And I too bawled all the way home!

I hope he is ok, other kids bullying my babe is something that makes me sadder than I could've ever (pre children) imagine being! And i second (third?) phoning the daycare, I am sure they should have been more onto it!

Iv made quite a few complaints now as he has started having nightmares about this boy! and not wanting to go to school and my sis is also making endless complaints and apparently so have several other mothers/fathers so im not sure what else to do.

I couldnt even stick around when i was there this morning cos the tears were already welling up and i was shaking with anger so i just got out of there and balled in the car but didnt let Bay see me so it didnt bug him that R**** (bully) had hurt me AND him!

are you able to look around for another daycare - cause just by the comments you've made - they don't sound terribly good.

theres only 2 daycares here and the other one has a horendous rep so its this or nothing Its a really good daycare in every other aspect but there is one teacher and one bully that are ruining it! I shouldnt really moan about the teachers not being there to see the event because as much as it made me mad that they were there and never saw it (id like to think that they never saw it rather than just couldnt be bothered sorting it) as they do have other children to watch other than Bay (even though when its happening i think "thats my child and all eyes should be on him! so why is nothing being done) and the main teacher diciplined the bully when she saw what was happening with me kicking up a stink! but i just want this bully sorted and im not sure whether to blame the daycare for this or the boy/his parents????

that is horrible. What you can do is put a complaint in writing. They have to take it seriously. They can also get special funding for this boy so he can have a care person just for him, to watch him and to teach him how to interact with other children. And they can teach other children to tell the boy what they dont like about his behaviour.

Id kick up a big stink and not let this go. His behavour needs to be sorted out now while he is young.

Poor wee Bayley I agree with Maria, you should put a complaint in writing. When I arrived to pick Maya up from daycare once when she was about 7 mths she was lying on the floor and had pulled a blanket over her face and there were no teachers around. I absolutely spat the dummy, ranted and raved and carried on, then went home and wrote a letter of complaint.

If you complain in writing they are obliged to follow it up and respond to your complaint in writing. In Maya's case it was that the centre had too many temporary staff and not enough permanent ones to oversee what was going on. We never had any more probs, and she stayed there till she was 3.

Yeah I definitely second what the others have said- put something in writing and have the words 'formal complaint' in there, then they are legally obliged to follow it up. You poor thing that must be so heartbreaking to deal with

Yep, formal complaint time - I'd start it off with "I'm writing this formal complaint in the hope that my serious verbal requests over the past month for action are investigated and an action plan established to ensure that the physical and emotional bullying my son has been subjected to stops immediately." You should also request a formal meeting with the centre director to discuss their anti-bullying plan and what can be done to assist Bailley to regain confidence at kindy. I'd be asking if the parents of the bully have been informed of his behaviour too.

Thanks ladies i will be doing a formal complaint and im glad to know that this bully can actually get someone in to help him sort his behaviour out because i was thinking about it last night and if they kick him out hes just going to go to another daycare/kindy and be a problem bully there too! so we would just be fobbing the problem on!
I have just dropped Bay off at school after a horrible night sleep where he was up 3 times moaning about the bully!!! then when we got to school he wouldnt run off and play like he usually does and just sulked next to me!! he wouldnt even say hello to his little girlfriend or cousin!! and when he saw the bully he took off in another direction!!!
Also i noticed an unfamiliar face (not the boys parents though) following the boy around everywhere like she was monitoring him!? so who knows!? hopefully that is what she was doing.

Iv just been to pick Bay up from school and he was very happy and put on a huge performance when we left!! because he didnt want to go so he mustv had a much better day and that bully said sorry to me!!! he also still had the shaparone (SP??) following him around so it seems as if they are cracking down on him which is great to see. I asked Bay if everything was ok with R**** today and he said "yup R**** was a good boy and he even wanted to play with me" So heres hoping that they are cracking down on it without needing a push!
