This is wk 4 of preg but bloods are now down around 5 and I can feel AF cramps starting

I want to keep hope but I'm not sure how many of these I can handle, how many do we have to lose? Three in just over a year, can hardly bear to think about it

Why do any of us have to go through this, it just is not fair.

If anyone has had good outcomes after recurrent consecutive MC I would really like to hear those stories. It is such a challenge to keep hope alive.

Heya, if you've had 3 in a row, go to your doctor, who can refer you for tests to find out WHY it is happening. When you get to 3, is when they usually start investigating further (I am going through this at the moment - first specialist appt on 7th November). It may be something very simple to control and therefore prevent in future, like low progresterone levels - that's the way I am looking at it. I have just had my (hopefully) last blood test today and it has taken 2 and a half weeks to get down to 1.2, which has done my head in.

Huge huge . Take care of yourself, and maybe do some pampering - and good luck!!

Oh hun, I am so sorry. I was praying this one would be a sticky bean.

Minik8e is right, you should talk to your doctor about investigating. I know Auckland has a recurrent miscarriage clinic.. not sure about the rest of the country.

Thoughts are with.

Hi ladies, It is soo unfair we have to go through this - Ihave had 3 mc this year (10, 5 and 5 wks) and now on clomid - petrified!!! first step I just want to get preg, then I will be a nervous wreck worrying about mc. My hubby and I have had a number of tests and everything came back good - so we have unexplained mc. I was hoping they would say - this is low, take this and you will be fine. But everything is good (which is good!). Spec did put me on baby asprin though and now clomid, with my first clomid blood test tomorrow...so not sure what will happen. But i feel for anyone going through recrurrent or even one mc, it is soo not fair. My thoughts are with everyone

HI Hun,

I am so sorry you are having such a sh*tty time at the moment.

I have had 3 mc, 13, 8, 19 weeks.
If you go to your Dr they are refer you onto the Public recurrent pregnancy loss clinic at Greenlane Auckland. They are wonderful, i was with them until I decided to go private.
They do every test imaginable you feel totally drained of blood everytime you go there but you alwats know you are getting the best treatment possible.

Good luck, I hope you get some answer soon.

Nelly belly I am so sorry to hear what is happening with you, there is nothing worse than waiting for those test results and getting bad news. I am 4 1/2 weeks preg and a few days ago my bloods were only 7, and then jumped up to 29 so crossing my fingers for you. I totally agree some success stories after consecutive MC would be great!

Ah my result wasn't great unfortunately and I haven't visited OB since then really.

The only positive thing from the loss is that I was able to get a specialist appt in the pipeline. Not sure when that will happen but am happy it is underway.

Last night was the worldwide candle lighting ceremony for lost babies - so sad to attend but really really good and healing. Anyone else go?

Oh and hey where are the positive stories!!?? OMG there must surely be some? I bet the ladies in question are just too busy with their bubbas to visit the board much! lol

Positive stories are in the Pregnancy section hehehe

There's maudie, who is awesome. Queenbean in the March thread. nzpiper and cuppatea in the Jan thread. Gofly in the May thread. Ummmm oh and jaxs and Emmecat. Kazzle is in the June thread (she's had 4 m/c in about 18 months I think - and now pg again). Errmmmm....hopefully I'll have a positive story soon!!! I have my first specialist appt on 7th November, we have had to go private to get seen in the near future (only have one gyne in the Naki for public, so waiting list is huge!!!)....so yeah!! They are out there!!!

I had 2 mc's before my first child was born, I thought I would never have a baby, it was so hard. I had had no idea how common mc was then, I didn't know anyone else who had had problems at all, several didn't even want to have babies and had no probs, geez I hated those people!
After that I thought I was "cured" but went on to have 4 more mc's before my daughter was born (4yrs after my son). There were some really tough times, nobody seemed to understand. All those comments people talk of on here, the "you're young", "this happens for a reason", etc, etc, hurt like hell. Being pregnant was stressful, I felt like I was waiting for the worst to happen. I've since had a pregnancy which we opted to end after the 20wk scan when we were told our baby had multiple abnormalities and would not survive. While this was the hardest thing to go through, I came out of it knowing that the mc's probably did happen for a reason, I believe those babies probably would have had the same sort of problems. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone, the point is that even with all the hard times, I still have managed to have 2 perfectly healthy children, soon to be 3. There is surely hope for anyone, even through a lot of heartache to get there.

Hi Nellybelly, I have had two mc this year and my current pregnancy looks like it is a blighted ovum, so looks like it will shortly be three.

Its incredibly hard to deal with. I already went to a private specialist after my second mc but the tests didn't find anything. There is no recurrent mc clinic in Wellington anymore but apparently I will be able to go through the maternal high risk clinic.

There was a woman called shadowdance who posted on here a few months ago about having twin girls after three mc and a chemical pregnancy.

Also, there is an Australian website called Bellybelly that has a forum with a sticky thread full of success stories after loss. The thread is in the Pregnancy after miscarriage or loss section.
