Could any one please lend some ideas, thoughts & suggestions on how this works especially from those who had experienced getting their child into modelling? I was being encouraged by both friends & first time acquaintances to enter my boy (14 months old) in commercial print ads as he's a natural on camera & remark how gorgeous and charming his demeanor is. Thanks

The best way would be to contact a talent agency that specialises in babies/children.

Another way is to contact the people in charge of marketing for companies such as Pumpkin Patch, JK Kids etc. You can usually find their contact email addresses on the companies website.

Good luck :)

Yup what the above poster mentioned, we've been encouraged by everyone under the sun to do the same with our girl but most of the stuff I found was for Auckland and we unfortunately can't move or travel there on request.

people tell me the same re my boy, and my daughter, I was stopped in the street with her once actually years ago

another idea is sending some pics to Oh Baby magazine, not sure how their modelling process works ....my friend's kids did modelling for whats it called ? Nova ? or 52 models and talent , one of them anyway ..

i spoke to the lady at the place the twins are registered (August Models) and she said that NZ has such a small pool of commercial work, and too many children (babies).

She said that the best age to put them in for that kind of thing is about 5 years of age, because there is more work for that age upwards.

Reason I was asking her is because you pay a fee to have your child on their books, and then generally you don't hear much from them.

Pumpkin Patch apparently use a lot of inhouse staff's children, payment is by way of PP clothing (which is cool)
Unsure about JK?

Not much help but just some thoughts!

I have emailed PP and JK as we have had so much encouragement from friends and family to get Isla into modelling.... both have replied saying that all they can do is keep her details on file but they are pretty sorted for babies/toddlers for quite a while so unlikely we will hear from them. It's a pain too cause most opportunities are in Auck, as Nicky said. Sucks to live in CHCH! lol
