We've recently moved next door to a young and friendly cat who wants to come visiting all the time. Trouble is, I don't want him living here! He comes onto our upstairs balcony (which has a ranch slider right into our lounge) all the time, despite me chasing him off there every time I see him. Today he crawled over the roof of the carport right up to our kitchen window and was asking to come in! Hopefully the water flung from the next window in his general direction will give him a hint.

Any better ideas? I've been chasing him off for two months now, it's getting ridiculous. Obviously I'm not as scary as I thought

We have 2 of those, they are damn annoying. I'm going the hard way with one of the cats that hang around our house. Gettting a possum cage, catching it, spraying it with water, then calling the SPCA to come and take it away. I don't care anymore that it maybe someones cat it has been doing it for months now and i've had enough. The other one, I know has an owner and she has told me to be rough with it when it decides to come into our house and go through our rubbish. So I have little blocks of wood and throw them at it, haven't mananged to hit it yet - not really aiming at the cat but beside it. They are more of a scare tactic as I don't want to hurt the cat.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

dh once showered the neighbours cat when it was caught once too often eating from our cats food bowl inside. He was sick of chasing it away. I didn't come back after that.
