We are about to start our first round of IUI. I was wondering if any of you (or people you know) have fallen pregnant doing this, and if so, how many times it took? What was the experience like?? Did you take it easy in the 2ww?? Did you even go back to work after insemination??? Lots of questions I know, but I'm keen to hear from anyone who's been through it.

We didn't fall pregnant with our one try at IUI, but we weren't likely to, so not really surprised. The actual process is exactly like a smear test, it's pretty quick and not painful, and you could go straight back to work after (they did make me lie there for 15 mins after though). As regards the 2WW, everything was just life as normal. I had my normal pre-menstrual symptoms a few days before hand so by the time it was confirmed it hadn't worked, we'd had time to get our heads around the idea.

Hi jakinty,

As gannet said I got a BFP on round two of IUI.

(Hi Gannet - how r u doing ! )

Have you done your first round yet?   I got really upset after our first one didnt work as i had my hopes set high but hang in there if you dont as we got it on round 2, we were even contemplating skipping round 3 and going to ivf but luckily we didnt have to spend any more thousands of dollars!

Best of luck with it - if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.
