Topic: HELP I need all I can get Posted: 15 May 2009 at 9:57pm |
I am so very confused...
We have been trying for almost 4 years now with an ectopic and 2 MC in the last 11 months.
I am becoming quietly obsessed, constantly trying to self diagnose and figure all this stuff out. One day I think I have it all sorted and then by the time I wake up the next morning I am already looking for what might be wrong with the last piece of information.
I use OPK, Saliva testing and have in the past charted frantically with BBT. I have tried vitex, detoxing, losing 10 kgs and the list goes on.
I have just been reading about CM and am convinced I have Hostile CM.
We BD every night for 7 to 10 days around ovulation, and I tell you it sucks, does nothing for the relationship.
I have just had my day 21 progesterone test today and my husbands tests have come back locked and loaded.
I am pulling my hair out, I want this so badly.
I need something +ve even if its someone elses +ve.

I can't even imagine what things are like for you right now but ([please don't take this the wrong way) I wonder if you and your DH need a couple of months "holiday" from TTC to refocus your relationship and enjoy being together just for the sake of yourselves. Just a thought.

Sorry to hear of your struggles. I don't know your history, but have you been to fertility associates for fertility plus? Are the referrals for your tests coming straight from your GP or from a fertility specialist? The reason I ask is that we TTC for 2.5 years and tests that we did upon referral from our GP were always good. But the specialist referred us for more specific tests, and that's when we found our problem, and went on to have IVF successfully. If you haven't been to a fertility specialist yet, it would definately be the next move that I would recommend.

I do think we need a break but it's just so hard to do.... if we do take time out it means more months go by without a baby.
I had a good cry last night, something I never do, and my husband and I had a really good talk.
I have kind of held off the dr thing because in my mind my body should be able to do this, I am only 31. Also my DH just doesn't want it as much as I do. Yes he wants another child but he is happy the way thing are too. I wish I could have this same attitude but it just eats me up to think I will grow old with only 1 child or my baby boy will grow up without siblings.
We also have never gone further with the fertitilty thing becase we know the next step means $$$.
After our chat last night we have now decided it is def time to go to the next step.
I guess I just had to admit I need help.

Go and see a specialist because it doesn't hurt and quite frankly if the alternative is destroying your relationship then don't ya think it is worth it!!!
Took us 18 months to conceive this one and it was worth the indignity of the tests believe me.

Also the initial specialist visit isn't too expensive, I think it was about $110 when I went back in 2006, well worth it in my opinion. And depending on the outcome, you may find that you meet criteria for public funding.

Hi Trying4No2, Im sorry to hear you are having such a hard time of it. Go and see your GP and ask for a referral to Fertility Associates, with the amount of time you have been trying and the miscarriages etc. I really can't see your gp refusing, and also that first referral should be free I think.
Or alternatively you can self refer in which case as Lulu said it might be around $150 depending on the clinic.
Goodluck, just remember strange things can happen I am pregnant again after two m/c last year and I was about to start treatment with FA the same week I got the BFP
