hi, I am looking for some opinions or perhaps websites or articles on why you would or wouldn't use a portacot instead of a cot for long term use....any ideas out there?? I'm in 2 about it and don't yet know...

The mattresses on portacots aren't very thick, I'd rather something more comfortable for long term use. Sort of like you sleeping on a camp bed/stretcher versus a normal bed?

My friends uses a portacot for her child all the time but she brought a nice matress for it. It had to be specially made because of the size being different from a normal cot. It works well for her because when they go away baby is used to the cot.
