I was just wondering if anyone has two children attending preschool that start at different times or if a preschool teacher on here could give me some advice?
To clarify my situation-
DD is 4 and under the 20hours free ECE. DS is 2 and we pay for him to attend 2 mornings a week.
THey both go 8.30 to 12.30 on a Weds morning but on a Fri DD has just started doing 9am-3pm whilst DS still does 8.30 - 12.30.
So therefore we have a half hour difference in start times. DS still has some difficulty with me leaving so it is best he goes at 8.30 as his lead caregiver goes on her break just before 9am there fore she can settle him in. But if I take DD that early I am effectively mucking up their ratios.
I asked today if she could do 8.30 til 2.30 but they said no. They said to start DS at 9am but as I mentioned above that is not ideal and then I would be paying for time he is not even there for.
They said that the only other option is to pay for a half hour for DS from 8.30 -9am which is only $3.40 but how does all of a sudden paying that little amount make their ratios better???
Does anyone else have this problem? Or can some one who works in the ECE area give me their perspective.
I am not wanting to be a whinger or anything I am just curious if there is another way round it?
Thanks heaps
