Has anyone used one of these? Monkey clock

Does it work? Did your toddler / preschooler just get wise to it after a while?

It seems a lot of money to spend on something that may or may not work!!!

Yes we do and it has worked for us. But if you get one don't ever let your little monkeys see how the back opens with the buttons that controls it otherwise they will just play with it and it won't work. Daniel has been told he isn't allowed to touch monkey so hes never played with it to get wise to it. He knows hes in his room until monkey wakes up

we got one and it never worked... cian just used to bring it with him into our room when he got out of bed at 5am. He does love it but didn't really fulfill it's purpose.

if it helps, i'm pretty sure the early waking thing is just a (albeit long) phase they go through... he now sleeps until 6.30am.... (most days!)

Worked for us. J knows not to come out of her room until Monkey 'wakes up'. I often hear her playing quietly in her room for up to an hour before hand, but she waits until his eyes open before coming to see us.

Didnt work for us cos Isla's room is dark and even when it was an ok time to wake and the monekys eyes opened, she oculdnt see it. We got one from the sleepstore which is like a white ball that glows green when its ok to wake, and it worked well, in conjunction with a star shart and rewards for sleeping through the night and staying in bed til her light went green.

That is the one that we just got yesterday Kellz. FX, wake up was set for 7am and I haven't seen Amy yet

ETA: the main reason I got the one I did was because it looked like the monkey clock would get knocked over too easily and make a big noise. This one has a more stable base.

We got given a slightly diffent one from the UKClock, and it hasn't helped at all. It didn't take DD long at all to figure out how to work it .
Haven't tried it for about 6mths, so might give it another go, but not holding out much hope. the other problem with it is when it's nighttime it's too hard for them to see if it's eyes are open or shut without getting out of bed.

It worked for us too... the main problem as kebakat said was to make sure they don't work out how to take the back off, we had to tell DD that we'd take it off her if she played with the back... She loves her's and proudly brings it in each morning when his eyes are open.... She is still doing it even though she sometimes is awake and in our room several times a night since DD2 came along
