Hi

I'm heading to Auckland with my two teenage boys on Monday and I'd like some ideas of things to do (especially stuff that's not part of the typical touristy stuff). So far I've thought of these things but not sure whether teenage boys will enjoy them?

MOTAT
Sky Tower
The Observatory on One Tree Hill
Kelly Tarltons
They've mentioned Clay Bird Shooting and Go Karts

All ideas and recommendations greatly appreciated. We'll be staying in Titirangi (not that travelling is a problem). TIA

How outdoorsy are they? There are heaps and heaps of great walking tracks out west. Much cheaper than clay bird shooting and go carts too.

Mountain biking at Woodhill Forest? (You can hire bikes out there.)

My cousins used to do archery in their school holidays?

I know you can do clay target shooting at Waitemata Gun Club on Old North Rd (out the back of Kumeu) but don't know if they have a website sorry.

If you want a break drop them off at Youthtown (schedule for 13-16 year olds here, you do need to book them in though)

Rock climbing at Birkenhead Leisure Centre or Extreme Edge in Mt Eden?

Paintball, only it's pricey.

Is Laser Strike passe these days?

Found this page when I tried to google for the gun club page

DH recommends Formula E Electric Indoor Karting, it's out by the airport. He says it's the fastest indoor race karts in the country. There's a free 3 lap trial. It's quite expensive for a proper race, $29 I think, but DH says it's flippin awesome.

There's also Snow Planet up in Silverdale but it would be quite a drive.

I was going to suggest Snowplanet as well. It doesn't take that long to get there from central Auckland - once you are on the motorway it's only about 20 minutes. If you are out west, then just head over via the Greenhithe bridge.
