Hi there, it's that time of year again and Heart children week is coming up in a couple of weeks time.
As part of this I have once again gotten together a team of neonatal nurses to take the plunge in the heart stopper challenge.
Basically we hop in a pool of icy cold water for 5 mins, while they add more ice all the time.
It is designed to be symbolic of what happens to heart children when they have open heart surgery as they are often cooled with ice to slow their heart before being put onto bypass for their operation.
I've set up a web page at
http://www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/PalmyNeonates/
for anyone that is interested in sponsoring me...unfortunately the online thing only takes credit card but otherwise if you are interested contact me and I'll sort out auto payment or something such like.
Please support me as I participate in Heart Stopper Challenge Palmerston North 2009 in an effort to raise funds for Heart Children New Zealand Inc.
Thanks in advance to anyone who does.
If anyone is in Palmy that wants to come watch, it's on Sunday 24th May in the square at 2pm start.
